The hotel needs updating - the room was clean and bed comfortable. Staff extremely friendly. Breakfast was poor and the coffee was not good. But a beautiful setting and therefore worth a visit.

This is a lovely comfortable hotel. Very clean although room ( Delphinium) was a bit plain. Bizarrely the cold tap produced warm to quite hot water although it wasn’t a problem as bottled water provided in room. The grounds are stunning and must be outstanding in summertime. My main disappointment was the food. The Restaurant has apparently won awards in the past but the food is mediocre. I ordered room service and didn’t eat most of it. Not whst I expected at all. Similarly the breakfast wasn’t the best quality and no choices to speak of. Staff were very nice but the food definitely let’s this place down.

Lovely Hotel

Lovely hotel in lovely grounds. Great value for the standard. Good bar and had good breakfast with particularly good service from the gentleman running the breakfast room - apologies that I didnt get his name - but made for a most enjoyable breakfast experience and made our stay even better.

Excellent location for Oulton Park race track.

Stayed 2 nights whilst visiting race track. Excellent location, service and food. Big room with comfy bed. Very cold bathroom but this didn’t detract from our stay.

Nice location

A beautiful hotel in a fabulous location but… Drinks are expensive and not overly impressed with the food. Ate in the very small bar and had the gammon which was tough to say the least Breakfast in the morning is definitely not cooked to order despite ordering it from the waitress. Very small and I have never seen such watery baked beans ever. Clearly a cheap brand! Nice hotel and location but that’s it

Starting to look run down and tired. Room was ok, nothing special. Bathroom wasn't amazingly clean, shower pressure average. Phone in room didn't work so called from mobile to get hold of reception. No full length mirror in the room, requested one and they kindly brought one for me- thank you.

Like you see in a country magazine.

Just a 1 night stop-off after a busy week at Center Parcs ,the Lake District with g/children and stop off to show the lights at Blackpool. A beautiful retreat of a country hotel with tasteful decor. A very spacious room. The likes, looking like you see in a magazine. So nice to have a large built in wardrobe with lighting. Friendly staff and warm rooms.
