Excellent location, very good restaurant in house, excellent room service. For a boutique hotel, small issues like no batteries in the TV remote, and my room location (200) overlooked the loud atrium and was right next to housekeeping (so could be noisy at odd hours).

It was a renovated YMCA. They kept the character of the original building. We noticed that the onsite restaurant was always full at brunch and dinner. A very good sign.

The Metcalfe is a stunning place. The staff are exceptional, the rooms exquisite and the decor and special touches make it feel magical. The property itself is walkable to so many things, but in the end it was the people behind the counter and the staff of this place that made it one of my favourite places to stay. Ever. And I’ve stayed a lot of places.

Nice stay at the Metcalf hotel. Good location in downtown Ottawa. Great staff . Valet parking was efficient. Cocotte bistro had great French bistro food .
