Great staff nice restaurant good parking in a good location. Rooms are a little dated but what a view over the Solent. Half hour walk to shops and attractions or bus it. Enjoyable garden jazz party.

Grand Old Lady , with Class

I stayed at the Queens for three nights starting on the eve of the 2nd of January. This is not the first time I have stayed at the Queens and it will certainly not be the last. I visit Portsmouth to see my family and to be honest , if the Queens is fully booked , then rather than go to another hotel I will wait till I can get a booking. The Queens hotel is a really lovely hotel , and yes it could be said that it shows its age in places, but the staff are fantastic , always ready to assist in any way. When you walk into the Queens hotel for the first time , you just look in awe at how stately it is, and now that the new owner has started a refurbishment to bring it back to how it did look when it was first built , it will just take your breath away. The Queens is also situated in just the right location, with all of Portsmouth’s attractions to hand or just a very quick bus ride away. Yes I will certainly continue to use the Queens.

Great location, and a grand apperance.

Great location , hotel has a great 1st impression with a very grand foyer. Overall clean and tidy and friendly staff.room was large and spacious , little things like kettle that did not switch off more plug sockets would be nice, leaky cold tap and some lights not working. Loved the idea of four poster bed but kind of lost it a bit with the feel of it came from flat pack furniture retailer. Had fantastic views over the solent across to the I.O W. Overall the queens is a nice hotel, but sone areas are showing its age.

We booked this hotel last minute to stay the night before getting a ferry. It was clean and comfortable with very accommodating staff.

Disappointing

What can I say!!! Talk about a disappointment this takes the biscuit Not impressed room is horrible, place looks grand from outside. No hot water,wifi played up,lift floor needed a good hovering and it was filthy it needs a vax.

Very friendly staff

The hotel is fabulously placed across the road from the beach. Our family room (2 rooms) was huge with a great balcony overlooking the green towards the sea. The staff were great, breakfast super.

Lovely hotel

Cons: Little bit bigger bed (room 120) but believe beds are bigger in other rooms.
Great hotel overlooking Southsea. Ideal spot. Although only had room only it was a very pleasant stay. Also thanks to the manager, I had left my handbag on car park floor, manager had found it luckily!
