Hotel U Prince Prague is wonderfully located right on Old Town Square, offering incredible walkability and views. You’re literally steps from the Prague Astronomical Clock, and we stayed around Christmas time, when the Christmas market was set up right outside the hotel—an absolutely magical atmosphere. Dining options are everywhere, and the energy of the square is hard to beat. One important thing to note is access: taxis cannot drive directly to the hotel due to Old Town restrictions, so you’ll need to walk about half a block with your luggage from the nearest drop-off point. Not a deal-breaker, but something to be aware of if you’re traveling with heavy suitcases. The rooms are charming, clean, and full of character. The hotel décor is eclectic, fun, and thoughtfully done. The staff was lovely and welcoming. For a four-star hotel, complimentary water should really be provided. There was none in the room, and purchasing water nearby was surprisingly expensive—around $5 a bottle, very much airport pricing. I would recommend avoiding the small convenience shops in the immediate area, which are extremely overpriced and clearly geared toward tourists. The hotel restaurant looked lively, clean, and inviting. We only had a light snack and didn’t fully explore the food offerings, but it appeared very nice. Beautiful hotel but right off the extremely busy main square. Drunken, bar patrons were literally howling in the streets outside our windows most nights till 4am. They also only have one elevator and that is also used to access their very popular rooftop bar. Most times it was faster to walk up to our fifth floor room than to stand in line for the elevator.

We loved being in the heart of Old Town Square just steps from the Astronomical Clock. Our room even had a darling balcony where we could look at the tower and listen to the chimes! We spent an evening in with drinks at Black Angel’s - the best cocktails! - followed by dinner on the glorious rooftop terrace. Prague is already magical, but our stay at the Hotel U Prince made our trip even more memorable!

I chose this hot based on reviews I read of how friendly and welcoming the hotel staff were. This was not the case. They were very rude, not at all helpful and gave us the wrong time for our breakfast. When I raised this, they didn’t come up with a solution or suggestion. They claimed we had it written down on welcome card in the room. We didn’t receive this so we had nothing to refer to. We therefore missed out on breakfast and had to pay for brunch in the hotel. we waited 35 mins to collect our bags for our return flight as the reception was overwhelmed by new guests. No sense of organisation, total chaos , lack of staff around to help. We nearly missed our flight. The hotel itself is stunning, However the staff were very poor. Felt very let down. And sadly won’t return to this hotel.
