It was beautiful but not very clean

It was a beautiful setting and the staff were so lovely. We always saw the same staff which shows that they work day and night to make sure we are comfortable. Lots of respect for the staff. We had the honeymoon suit which was lovely but kept facing issues with the plug and it took ages to fill up. We did have cockroaches in the room and my husband was very unwell with sickness and diarrhoea. It wasn’t very clean. Lots of Hispanics who are very rude and pushing in around the buffet. Buffet was ok but we didn’t eat there much due to being platinum members so we were able to go to a restaurant each night. It’s very worth it to pay extra to be platinum so you can have comfortable sun loungers. The activities looked good. Food was swarmed by flies all of the time. They try and get you involved in timeshares (Joan was a member of staff who would not leave us alone) and they pester you.

The food options are a joke. We were forced to eat at the buffet for the duration of our visit because the hotel had overbooked and you couldn’t make reservations through the app that they tell you to download. I only found out that that was the reason why we couldn’t make reservations and it was suggested that we should have called customer service to make reservations when we were checking out. How helpful to us at checkout? So we endurer the buffet which had mediocre food with both adults and children picking off the food with their hands.

The staff was excelent. Special thanks to the pool bartenders Wally and Juan. Thanks aldo to Xavier. I didnt like the fact that on the ladt day our room was not cleaned and I had to call twice for clean towels. Other than that we had a great time. The food, drinks and entertainment were great.

The staff seem to only go out of their way for a tip. I don’t necessarily like it when they only assist you as long as you have cash on hand to offer. On top of this, they allow vendors to visit the property to sell stuff and constantly bother you when you walk past. The vendors are only there to scam people. Upon arrival, I was excited to try out one of their many restaurants, and tried to book a reservation online, and apparently all of them were reserved during the entirety of our stay. We were forced to eat at the buffet our entire stay. Another frustrating thing is that they close the pools and the beaches very early. If you plan on waiting for the sun to not be as hot to go swimming you better just assume you won’t be able to swim at all. The people at the activities center at the beach over charge you, and make sure you don’t take photos with any animals on the beach, because they take advantage of foreigners and demand money from them. The maids only give out one bathroom towel per person, and only one device can have WiFi in your room. So my husband and I had to switch between who will use the WiFi just to use our phones in bed. It wouldn’t be an issue if there was enough cell service to reach my phone, but of course there wasn’t. I will not be going back.

POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE SCAM! They hacked my husband's account on TripAdv*sor and posted raving reviews under his name (Kegmy R) - go look, identical reviews were left under Caribe Deluxe Princess and Tropical Princess. HE DID NOT WRITE THEM. I also left a review including a picture of me there, so you know I am a real person and to show you his profile was hacked, as you could see a picture of me in his profile. We just got back from our 2 week stay - it was the worst experience in 18 years we have been coming here - flies on food, plates and glasses are dirty. You could not find a clean table to eat at, dirty plates left everywhere, had to hunt for your own forks and knives. Ask for water and wait for 30 mins. Most workers could care less about anything, borderline rude, indifferent at best (especially in the buffet, coffee and ice-cream shops). Cleaning lady was not friendly either. Forget about pretty animals made of towels or flowers, they barely cleaned our room. Mosquitos were not fumigated even after a request. AC did not cool down the room. Beach is awful, they don't clean it, seaweed accumulates and rots, it smells. Once you pass Princess hotels - beaches are clean, but they are far away. Rooms are fairly large, but not maintained. Our shower door was falling off, toilet paper holder was broken on arrival and remained in the same spot till we left (even though cleaning came in daily, maintenance did as well). Mosquitos are everywhere.

We were here for a family vacation for 6 days. To say we had a rough start is putting it nicely. The place needs more than just a face lift, it should be taken down and rebuilt at this point. It's not well kept and the beach is gross with seaweed. The resort next door at least had cleared pathways for ppl to get into the water. We didn't even get that. The food is really, really bad; at times even cold. And that's with knowing that overall resort food is not great. Some of the staff seemed annoyed if we asked for anything, so overall it was not good service. HOWEVER, we survived thanks to a handful of amazing staff that helped us enjoyed our time there. If you go here, lookout for Javier the pool guy, Francisco, the waiter (for the buffet and Italian restaurant), Gleiry (our absolute fav she made my sister's bday here soooo special!), Francisco, Sebastian, and Randy from entertainment and Edison from the swim up bar. Thanks to them we were able to enjoy our vacation!

Great Family Friendly Resort

The resort was good and everyone was very friendly! I traveled with my husband, 3 kids (1 is special needs), and parents. Rooms: We asked to move rooms because our first room smelled like mold. The people at the reception were understanding to our needs and moved us quickly. Our new rooms were great! The rooms smelled clean and we had a better view of the outside. Bathroom area: Glass doors so not much privacy in the shower and bathroom. We had a mini refrigerator with complimentary sodas, beer, and water. Everyday our fridge had fresh cold drinks. Restaurants that were included: Good food and a variety to cater to all people. The pizza, fried platanos, sea food, and fries were all good! I would recommend to make early reservations to the Brazilian and Italian restaurants. Both restaurants were great and included. My 6 year old is special needs and a picky eater. I had to bring ready made instant rice with me on this trip because that is all he eats. Everyone at the restaurants were nice and understanding and they found ways to heat up his rice everyday. I always tipped them for this extra service. All drinks at the bar were included and were made very good. My favorite was Coco Loco! Water activities and other services are available for an additional fee. I booked mine with the resort and the prices were reasonable. We did jet skiing, banana boat, parasailing, and spa. Overall, the resort was beautiful and fun! Please visit the ice-cream and cappuccino shop and theater.

The property itself wasn’t bad but it could have been cleaner (the rooms and outdoor bathrooms). They had great food options except anything American. We couldn’t get reservations the first night so we had to do American. Wish they would have just done primarily Dominican options because their Dominican options were by far the best! Their drinks were amazing. Staff were for the most part very friendly and accommodating but I wouldn’t recommend this particular resort. The walls are paper thin, I got a world class listening of someone having intercourse late at night and then a party the following night. The sister resort next door has better buffet options, aesthetically looked a lot better, and more like a 5 star resort. If I had to give it a rating this is more of a 3 star resort in all honesty. I’ve been to 4 and 5 star resorts and they are both light years ahead of this one. This is just personal preference. May work for other people but it didn’t work for us. The rooms were 100% not actually cleaned. Just a quick shuffle. No sweeping, no mopping, no wiping down anything. So that’s what really set me down this path.

The food was good overall, the buffet changed constantly with plenty of variety even for breakfast. You can only book reservations at specialty restaurants 3 days in advance and not every restaurant is open every day. You can make dinner reservations in the hotel app, but it’s easier to do at the dinner booking desk in the lobby. However, Anna Maria at the dinner booking desk was extremely rude when we attempted to ask to rebook our dinner reservation after missing it due to a late returning excursion. She was patronizing and didn’t even attempt to help. Winston, Santos and Jose De La Paz are amazing, otherwise the wait staff doesn’t go out of their way to help you unless you tip. At the pools and on the beach, there isn’t chair service for food and drinks like in other countries. They need more people to keep things clean around the pool area (pick up cups, etc). The rooms are nice, working shower and toilet, always had good water pressure and hot water. Every room has a balcony with outdoor space. The towels are a bit dingy and need to be refreshed as do the cloth napkins at restaurants, sometimes they had lipstick and stains on them. The alcohol is basic well alcohol and you can only get name brand if you upgrade to the Premium package ($40 per day, per person). I’ve never experienced this and I’ve been to over 10 all-inclusive hotels throughout the Caribbean. There is a 24-hour sports bar behind the lobby, this is the only night life.
