This is our second time staying at a Dreams resort and while we had a great time, I think the experience at the resort could have been better.
Pros:
Bar staff were friendly, the activities (like aqua fit) were fun and entertaining, the beach area is well maintained and easy to access. The layout of the resort is nice and you can find a pool very close to the rooms. Breakfast had good variety. The lazy river is nice and relaxing.
Cons:
The staff is friendly but some of them act very irritated when you ask them questions (this happened multiple times at different times of the day). Some of them didn’t realize I spoke Spanish and would make snide remarks at my husband and our friends not realizing I could understand them. The food was subpar - everywhere we ate for dinner. Neither the iron nor the blow dryer worked in our room - which was never addressed by the front desk when brought up to their attention. They currently have construction going on so the night club shared by Dreams and Secrets isn’t opened. Tons and tons of vendors approached us multiple times at the beach so it was hard to relax sometimes.
I would say overall- it was a good experience but I’ve had a better experience in Cancun. I hope to comeback to DR to a different resort and hope we can enjoy it more.
