I noticed from the moment i arrived that there is a system where favouritism is given to clients that tip well. And although thats a system thats custom in the United States. Not everyone that visits the Dominican Republic is a US citizen.
With that being said, Resort hotels need to offer a fair and open bidding system for new clients that arrive at the hotel to reserve at one of the several restaurant available. This is supposed to be a all-inclusive hotel, but if your advising clients to make reservations from 10am and everything is fully booked at 10:04am then its clear as day travellers that have been at the resort at least a day or two before have been allowed to reserve in block, which is unthical.
I'm not a fan of buffets because most restaurants just replace on top of old food which can lead to sickness. The room service was cold and this was ordered on the first day and the following morning to the extent the only decent thing was the drinks.
Its a shame because it was supposed to be a birthday surprise, however next time, i will hire a car and rent a villa. At least i know what im paying for.
