My room had a lot of issues, since the first day I arrived there were a lot of mosquitoes flying around and I had to get rid of them. Also there were cockroaches in the bathroom and walking around in the room, this was super disgusting. Even though, I read this on the reviews before, I didn't think it was going to happen to me. Also I had 2 bad experiences in the restaurants during dinner and breakfast time, clearly the staff is not well-trained to deal with customer service appropriately. During dinner time, my entree took a lot of time (around 30 minutes) and the servers told me that there was an issue with the gas line but I think they didn't put through my order and then they brought the dessert first (clearly they weren't communicating each other) and then for the breakfast time I went by myself to have breakfast and I went to get something to complement it and when I came back to the table my breakfast was gone! They told me that it was a matter of how to set the utensils on the plate, and that way they know that someone hasn't finished eating. They got me another omelette but I think the way they are trained is not the correct one, the place wasn't even busy at all to make the decision of just dump my food in less than 2 minutes that I was away from my table. It was a bittersweet experience but definitely there is room to improve many processes in terms of customer service staff training.

The staff was amazing! Excellent service! The only negative feedback I have is that the beds are very uncomfortable and sometimes the dishes were not the cleanest. Overall great experience.

Riu Palace Punta cana is majestic looking, with beautifully manicured grounds . Buffet was good with a good variety, staff always attentive and friendly . The Ala carte restaurants we tried were the Japanese and the seafood and steak restaurant and were disappointed. The Buffett is better compared to those two we tried, can’t speak for the rest . Given the size of the property and the number of rooms, it could use more entertainment during the day and night . Compared to Mexican and Jamaican all inclusive resorts, that has daily shows and activities at the pool, this was a bit lacking . We did go to the Riu white party on Wednesday night and that was fun but it was adults only so the kids had to stay behind . All in all it was a great resort with wonderful staff .

Not much dine options, we went to the steak house one night and enjoyed the dining experience besides this we ended up eating at the buffet because didn't feel there are much verities. At night the main lobby they turn off lights so if you are a late nighters then you'll be in dark. Need to have 24 hours coffee shop with some different options to eat from the buffet, maybe they need ice cream options for kids. I traveled with family and forat time my kids felt like they wanted to come abck home because they didn't find much night activities, like arcades and other gaming. On the last day we all felt like its dragging and everyone was ready to head back home. We were there for 4 nights. They need to have a hibachi place which was big disappointment when we found out there wasn't any. Staff was friendly everywhere. Beach was good, we spent a day at the beach. For the pools they definitely need something more only one pool for kids.

This is an amazing property with very nice staff, especially the guys from the buffet some of them were exceptional. If u r traveling with kids n dont no Spanish dont think about taking ur little kids to the RIU Land, the guy there were very rude and racial. He leave my kids standing while placing all the other kids in a seat. When i ask if my kids cant take part, he ask if i want dem to, like really?? Y i took dem there in the 1st place? He ruined my entire day, i just pick up my kids n walk out of the play place. Other than that lots of entertainments for adult and the food was very good, healthier side.

Beautiful property… very strange smell all around the property- basically plumbing was spewing weird smells. Beautiful beach and poool. Very loud drunk people all over the resort if you want peace and quiet this is not the place for you. People were nice and good was great as always 1 dollar goes a long way. Did not meet up to THE RIU NAME

Can’t wait til next time!

We stayed at RIU resorts Palace Punta Cana for our anniversary. It was a great experience. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Food was good despite all the negative reviews on that subject. Some concerns that did arise is the air conditioning not being able to be readjusted so the room would stay freezing unless we turned it completely off and just let the fan stay on high all night. Which would have been okay if it wasn’t so humid. Also, the bed was extremely firm so it hurt my back. Entertainment could use a little sprucing up. Not much excitement happening there. Overall however, I would definitely go back and recommend this place to anyone looking for a reasonable all inclusive resort with great amenities and courteous staff members.
