My family and I have been going to Punta Cana for years and this has been the WORST stay since. SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL THE HOTEL DOES NOT HAVE ELEVATORS ANYWHERE SO IF YOU HAVE AN ACCESSIBILITY PROBLEM, IF YOU ARE HANDICAPPED OR YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN OR PEOPLE OF A CERTAIN AGE, THIS IS NOT THE HOTEL FOR YOU We stayed in “Deluxe Suites” but there was nothing deluxe or suite about it. The rooms and hallways were dirty, outdated, and smelled like mildew. Love Dominican food but the food there was absolutely terrible Awful hotel I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy

Is not what you see

The hotel is large, but you can get there without needing transportation, as some say. The pool, beach, and restaurants are close by, so you don't have to constantly go back and forth. It's very convenient. The rooms are large and spacious, the beds are comfortable, and so is the bathroom. The room is clean, and the hotel is generally fine. The activities are varied, but the staff isn't very proactive when it comes to calling people or respecting game schedules; they show up when they remember. The buffet food is plentiful, and the lounge is spacious. The bad thing: In general, Dominicans tend to respond politely at first; when you ask them something again, they do so with reluctance. They don't like to work, unlike in Mexico, where they always treat you well and are super friendly. Here, they're rude, as they say. But overall, I don't think it's the hotel's problem. They don't have waiter service at the pool, beach, or bars. They take your empty glasses away, but don't bring you anything. It's very inconvenient. All the restaurants are buffets, so even if you wait for the Mexican, Italian, or Japanese restaurant, it's a buffet. Arrive before 7:30 because then they tell you it's full and they close. I don't understand the need, because it's a buffet anyway, and they have food and space. The steakhouse is the only one that isn't a buffet, and even then you have to wait, and they only give you a couple of things. I’m continuing in goggle because Hear is not enough please read

Food was bad, there were roaches. They double book our rooms, there were guest and housekeepers opening our door. Customer service was bad. No refreshment

There were pockets of great customer service received from the bartenders, wait staff, and concierge. The specialty restaurants had opportunities with the Maitre'd as it relates to their customer service skills. They were not very friendly and did not communicate well

El servicio de front desk no fue proactivo: aires dañados en las habitaciones (nos dijeron que era normal que estuvieran así porque hacía calor), facilidades muy lejos (15 minutos a pie), solo 2 piscinas con barra y en la principal permitían fumar por lo que el agua estaba sucia con colillas de cigarrillos e incluso encontramos un gusano flotando. Casi nada de animación, ni en piscinas ni en el teatro. La comida de los restaurantes no eran a la carta sino buffet y de muy mala calidad. El servicio de comida 24hrs solo era limitado y no apetecible. Si querías utilizar las pocas facilidades de entretenimiento en el sportbar (2 mesas de billar, 2 máquinas de carros y una mesa de hockey) debías pagar $3.00 dólares CADA VEZ QUE QUISIERAS JUGAR. Todos los días encontrabas la misma variedad de comida en el buffet. La atención de los meseros en el buffet principal fue excelente pero fuera de ahí, se tardaban mucho e incluso parecían molestos por tener que brindar un servicio. Realmente no regresaría ni recomendaría al Riu Bambú, pagamos demasiado para la calidad del hotel.

Nuestra visita este año fue una decepción, realmente no cumplió nuestras expectativas para nada y el servicio de front desk no fue proactivo: aires dañados en las habitaciones (nos dijeron que era normal que estuvieran así porque hacía calor), facilidades muy lejos (15 minutos a pie), solo 2 piscinas con barra y en la principal permitían fumar por lo que el agua estaba sucia con colillas de cigarrillos e incluso encontramos un gusano flotando. Fuera de los Riu Party, la animación fue casi nula y la comida de los restaurantes no eran a la carta sino buffet y de muy mala calidad. El servicio de comida 24hrs solo era hot Dog, hamburger y sandwich de tuna y jamón y queso previamente preparados. Si querías utilizar las pocas facilidades de entretenimiento en el sportbar (2 mesas de billar, 2 máquinas de carros y una mesa de hockey) debías pagar $3.00 dólares CADA VEZ QUE QUISIERAS JUGAR. Todos los días encontrabas exactamente lo mismo en el buffet. Food was good in the buffets and I liked that there were many choices of dishes, the staff in the buffets were amazing, but dislike the Mexican and Japanese/Chinese restaurants the food was not good I would go again
