I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at BEI in San Francisco was so frustrating that I feel compelled to share. First, there was only one functioning elevator during the entire duration of my stay. The elevator buttons were unresponsive, wait times exceeded 10 minutes, and it consistently arrived overcrowded with 8–10 guests at a time. This was a major inconvenience and safety concern. Second, both payment terminals at the front desk were non-functional. I waited in the lobby for over 30 minutes while the machines repeatedly rebooted and failed to process card payments. Ultimately, I had to ask another guest to use their tap-to-pay feature and Venmo them, as the system could not read chip cards. This is highly unprofessional and unacceptable for any hotel. Third, there was a significant discrepancy between the online reservation and the charge at check-in. My booking was confirmed online at approximately $400, but I was charged nearly $700 upon arrival. No clear explanation was given, and the lack of transparency was frustrating. Lastly, although I received approval for a late check-in through the hotel’s website and text system, I was repeatedly disturbed by staff via phone calls and in-person visits to my room, questioning my check-in status. It created an uncomfortable and unwelcoming environment. Overall, this was one of the most poorly managed hotel experiences I’ve had. Hotels.com charged me a resort fee of $70.01 in ADDITION to the $41.20/day resort fee during checkout. Hotels.com were not upfront about the total cost of this stay which is disappointing.

The property was in a good location for walking to the civic center and town hall area. The lobby was nice and big. The room was nice. Our view wasn’t the greatest. We looked out on a decaying building. The carpet could have used a cleaning. First time in San Francisco and we enjoyed it.

The stay was good. No complaints. Although I did request a high floor with a view. My view was of the building directly next to us. There was no desk in the room which was troubling since I had work to do. Otherwise, great location, very secure parking!

The carpets were dirty, I counted shower because the setting for shower was broken. I don’t like that they change beddings every other day. Finally saw hair on my comforter. The place is too expensive to have had this type of experience. I was only there one night. I don’t want to imagine those that stayed more than one night. It was truly upsetting because on pictures it looks great until you there then it’s ugly.

The lobby and bar area of this hotel was well equipped and nicely decorated. The people were friendly. That's about all the good things I can say about this hotel. The room was very sparsely appointed with a bed, a TV, a table, and two chairs that were the most uncomfortable I have ever sat in. The carpet needed to be replaced and there was only one light in the main room beyond the two small lights mounted on the headboard. That headboard was also the only usable source of electricity. For breakfast I had a ham & egg croissant and a soda. That will be $18 thank you. I was half way through the croissant bread before I hit any ham. No fruit or breakfast sandwiches available. Don't come to this hotel expecting all your travel needs to be provided. And watch out for the multitude of SF taxes and fees. That will add another $40 to $50 dollars per night to your invoice. I can not recommend this hotel.

The elevators didn’t even work. They charge $68 a day for parking at the hotel. The hotel room had no fridge, and microwave. Completely disappointed for this stay. Extremely overpriced parking and very limited amenities.
