Room lovely with large blackout curtains on all windows apart from one above bed which had a Venetian blind, there was a street light on outside all night so room never dark, struggled sleeping, shame just needed to put a Roman blind up matching the curtains. Breakfast, tea and coffee in thermal jugs and was warm at best. Pastries like cheap supermarket ones. Porridge was made from water not milk which was horrible but that’s down to my personal preference. Shame hotel looks great, was disappointed. Staff good

After reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned about our stay. First impression, lovely hotel, our room was clean, spacious, a little tired and in need of a upgrade but. My family including my dog slept well. Quite rooms. Staff on the first morning breakfast was accommodating and very helpful. Was informed we couldn't sit in the main eating area but he moved all that was needed. The next morning different story. The man was unhelpful and clearly didn't want to be there for the day. All in all a good stay just last staff member ruined it a bit

4 stars because of the value. The hotel is a bit dated, but fine. The room was small, and the bed not the greatest, the bathroom was nice. But I found the hotel charming- and the staff excellent. The bar in the hotel is cozy and friendly (a special thank you to Chris for making us feel welcome!). The location is excellent in the center of historic Stirling. It seemed like parking was pretty easy (though we didn't have a car). I would recommend, with reasonable expectations.
