The room was clean and warm, with modern furnishings. It was quite compact though, with very little storage space for clothes. The room came equipped with shower gel/shampoo and a hair dryer. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast is excellent with a wide choice of options to suit all palates. It was kept well stocked throughout the service and staff were regularly clearing away used plates and cups. It is, however, a small eating area for such a large hotel and we sometimes battled to find somewhere to sit at breakfast. There is no restaurant, breakfast is the only meal served in the hotel. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Room very basic with USB ports not working and no plugs beside the bed. very overpriced for such a basic room. Hotel in a great location plenty of bars & restaurants. Breakfast had a good variety.

We were treated very badly by one of the receptionists of name Haidi as I was informed. The remaining of the staff were very nice but she made our stay very uncomfortable and I don’t think I will return to this hotel due to her extreme rude behavior with the guests. We liked the room was nice but because of that incident with her we felt very bad to stay at this hotel.

Great stay - accomodations, room and breakfast were great. Good location and felt very safe. It would have been a 5 star rating until Thursday night when the nightclub was open until 2am. I could hear it on the 8th floor.

The Scandic Grand Tromso did a terrible job at check in. They were changing locks on the day we checked in so check in HAD to be right at 4PM. They did a terrible job of conveying this information. When we tried to check in earlier (yes, I know check-in is at 4..but who doesn't try to check in early), we were gruffly told, "Check-in is at 4, store your luggage down stairs." The person was not pleasant and no explanation until much much later. Not a good first impression for people. The shower leaked heavily, causing water to leak all over the bathroom floor.

Dance club on the bottom floor made loud pulsating music till 3am. Also lack of Netflix on tvs. Bathoom had a weird layout which put the toilet on the side of the basin which made it sit right in your face.

Comfortable hotel with excellent staff

The staff were lovely -very helpful. They allowed us to check in early since our room was ready. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with a huge variety of offerings. There was a washer and dryer available for use which was greatly appreciated!

Great location, friendly staff

Excellent location and very friendly staff. We spent two nights here to experience the Arctic region of Norway. While our conducted tour to the fjords was cancelled due to bad weather, it gave us the opportunity to enjoy the Paris of the north i.e., Tromso. Due to its central location we were able to walk to the Polaris Museum, the Radhus (Town Hall), the City Library, the Cathedral, and eat at some nice restaurants including the one in the hotel itself.
