We only stayed one night but the hotel was great. They held our items until check in, were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel had a great ambiance. The room was nice and air conditioned. The bathroom and room were very clean and both had good amenities. The price is great for those staying short term in Venice who want a great m experience that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Also, while the location is far from many tourist sights, it’s very close to the train station making it extremely convenient for travel.

Great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the Carlton. The location was on the grand canal, right across from the train station - which was perfect for a quick arrival with loaded bags. The hotel staff was very friendly and informative. The room was old fashion in a good sense of the way - very Beauty and The Beast decor. We did not eat at the restaurant but the breakfast spread looked amazing. Ask for a room overlooking the canal or courtyard. We walked and walked the city but you could easily hop on a water bus from across the hotel and be at the main sights within mins.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Carlton on the Grand Canal. The hotel has lovely decor throughout—stylish and full of quirky charm that gives it real character. It’s situated at the top end of the Grand Canal, so it is a bit of a walk from the main sights, but still very accessible with good transport links nearby. Overall, a great hotel with a lot of personality—would happily stay again!
