Location was great! Hotel staffs were excellent. A staff named Katia was excellent. Hotel provides really good breakfast. Rooms are ok. My kids had a good laugh when they saw the hair dryer. The heating system was aweful. We visited this week (Jan, 2026) and the rooms got too hot. It wasn't pleasant. The heating is controlled centrally and doesn't allow guest to adjust heating to their own comfort level.

Rooms are very old style and small. This is a 3.5 star hotel at most. Breakfast is disappointing, everything taste like it came out of a stale box, shame for a eurozone location known for great food taste and places. Even the coffee was awful, how do you mess that up especially in Italy!!!!. No kettle, no mini bar in the room. If you must stay here get your breakfast and food elsewhere. Nothing grand about this place other than it's located close to bus and train stations, however your going to have to lug luggage up and down the stairs across the big canal bridge especially if your arriving late evening. The boat rides and boat transit are also across the canal. Rooms have heavy old style keys and you only get one, Grand mistake for a pricey place, Carlton Hotel management reminder we are in the digital age now catch up!!! Appreciated the complimentary luggage storage as we visited town after check out.

Location on the grand canal across from the train station where the water ‘bus’ stops are, so easy to get around. First night in a single, just a twin bed but a new bathroom and the best shower I have had. Second night, different reservation, larger room with a good shower. Both were clean and comfortable. The staff was exceptional. Looked like a popular place for tour groups and they kept things moving. I didn’t have breakfast or use their restaurant. A bit if a walk to the main tourist sites, but that’s half the fun - very easy connection with the ‘bus’.

At check-in room wasn’t ready right away, room smelled dank/damp, obvious signs of water damage/repair to ceiling corner of room, fire alarm woke us up early in the morning had to evacuate in the rain, upon leaving encountered a busker/hustler “giving” ponchos but then following for money, and my daughter and I both had numerous bug bites after the one night when googled looked just like bed bug bites, but the view from the room was nice :)

I know it’s Venice and old & beautiful! It definitely was! Just wish we could have had a coffee maker in our room especially with early tours! Didn’t even have coffee available in lobby until their breakfast was ready! I need coffee when I wake up! The safe lock broke and we had to call front desk! The man broke it open ! Thank God because we put our passports in there! The refrigerator did not work at all! The rooftop bar was so much more expensive than any other eateries in Venice! It was so hot in room! Air conditioning didn’t work! We were told because it’s October and winter was here! Not for us! The positive it was close to all!
