Was very excited on arrival to the property, a very warm welcome by the valet and then upon check in we were taken to our room. First impressions, the room looked to be clean and completed to a very high standard. We then decided that we would go to the spa only to find we had no towels in our room, we went down to reception and this was quickly fixed. Spa was small but clean, Plunge pool wasn’t cold, one of the jacuzzi’s was closed therefore the only one which was open was packed and we were unable to use. There was a lack of loungers and chairs however the bar service was excellent along with the food in the pub which we had for our evening meal. When we returned to our room we decided to use the hot tub. Very clean and easy to use. The Lounge area was comfortable and clean. Then onto going to bed. Where i would honestly recommend sleeping on the sofa rather than the bed. It was solid I personally think sleeping on a plank of wood would have been more comfortable. I rang reception to ask for another duvet as the room was absolutely freezing, when it was brought to my room i was given a single duvet without a cover then to be handed separately a king sized duvet cover to then be laughed at by the staff member who said you’ll have to manage to put this on yourself. I was absolutely appalled! Breakfast was average, majority of the food was luke warm. The tea and coffee was stone cold. I have to say I won’t be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone.

Brilliant location! Very clean and big rooms. Only disappointment is the tv channels. Huge tv screens but limited channels and can’t connect to WiFi which is disappointing

Fantastic location within walking distance of the town and lake. All staff extremely helpful from start to finish. Having a hot tub on the balcony was a great and unique experience in a hotel. Would definitely recommend.

We have been going to the Burnside for 20 years but have seen the prices steadily increase . We found the Staff on our recent visit not very friendly especially at Breakfast and almost bordering on being rude. We were charged £36 for parking for a duration of 1.5 days I.e. arrived at 5pm on Friday 4th and vacated at 10am on Sunday the 6th October as well as paying for a newspaper that wasn’t received!! I’m afraid that will be the last time for us at Burnside☹️

Great family getaway

Lovely hotel, close to everything - it was so relaxing. Staff were great and the rooms were clean. Only downside is that we were close to the lift and it was a bit noisy at times.
