We had an event cancelled by a local venue 24 hours prior to check in due to a very sad and unexpected death, so understandably we didn't fancy driving 4 hours for no reason. Spoke to a lady on the phone at the hotel who said they can't process refunds as Expedia manage everything, but agreed to it if Expedia could do that. They absolutely could but during this process Malady, the hotel supervisor ultimately declined to offer a refund. This is such a sad and exceptional circumstance that I am now out of pocket for, because they seem more interested in lining their pockets than showing compassion.
