The staff was wonderful. Food was much better than any other all inclusive we have been to. Noise level is good, no super loud pool parties in the middle of the day. Our room was very nice with a two full bathrooms. The sofa bed needs to be replaced but my son just decided to sleep on the large lounger and was comfortable

Food was mid. Zen was the only amazing restaurant. Settled for buffet the last two days. My robes and sheets were not clean upon arrival to my room. House keeping did change them out quickly. Room service food was always cold and took forever to arrive. The resort seemed more catered to kids and families. Wouldnt book again.

All around it was a good experience I like the resort the staff was friendly and kind. Shout out to Carlos in the breakfast section my server the food was always good despite the reviews. Nicholas clean my room every day but most time he didn’t leave enough towels but the room looks clean . Note for housekeeping the showers need to be scrubbed especially in the grout and the weave my was dirty room 9203. Not a bad experience will stay again.

I liked our vacation, I had a bit of a rocky start. I paid extra for a room that had a king size and a swim out and then I got there and they said there were none available. I had specifically chose that package to ensure a king bed and I was on my honeymoon and they did nothing to fix this. They let us know we could upgrade to have the perks of the hideaway adult only area but there was nothing they did to fix this issue and made us pay for the upgrade. It really put a damper on my first day of my honeymoon. Other than that the staff could be a bit more friendly. Some people were but I remember asking for a Caesar with white salt and a lime and the guy rolled his eyes at me while I had a $3 tip in my hand. I gave him the tip anyways in hopes that future experiences at that bar would get better but it never improved and that was at the bar beside the main swimming pool. Could definitely improve on customer service. I work in the service industry and I would never roll my eyes at a customer.

We had been to this location about 7 years ago and it was OUTSTANDING all around. It was shocking to see how much it had deteriorated. The service was awful- rarely could get a refill of even WATER! That was when they actually asked if we wanted any beverages. For a room with 4 guests, we had to argue daily to receive 4 bath towels. Staff were not helpful nor pleasant. The grounds and buildings are run down, falling apart. The facade tiles were missing, uneven pathways, cobwebs everywhere. The main areas now had staff badgering us to purchase services to the point we avoided the lobby entirely at times. Previously we were met with cold towels and beverages. This time we were met with a time share pitch, where we were guilted by being told that participating would help the staff member get her cancer treatment. The hibachi experience... it was unbelievably terrible- actually laughable!! Raw egg flung and hitting a patron and told not to worry about the yoke all over. Meat that fell off the grill was just picked up and cooked. The only enjoyable parts were the beach, even though getting beach towels seemed to be a daunting task equivalent to a scavenger hunt at times; the amazing people that ran the coffee cafe; and the gym and its staff. This experience has made us not want to book Royalton in any location!! Strongly suggest booking a different hotel if you are looking to travel to Mexico!!

There was an odd sewage smell all over the property. It was really bad in the buffet which turned you off from the food. It really bothered me that it followed you everywhere. The property didn’t really feel like a 5-Star resort. I think it could be cleaner. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful but the conditions of the resort wasn’t what I thought it was.

Great family trip

We went here on the recommendation of others. Service was great and it was definitely a lot of fun for the kids. The splash pad and slide for our three and six year-old were fantastic. The place is a bit dated, but it looks as though they’re trying to do some renovations. Our room was a bit Moldy, smelling or mildew and we asked for a change, but they were completely booked so that was not possible. My wife did get to go to the spa one day and raved about it. For no inclusive resort, the food was very good. It was fresh and the buffet was predictable. We did have a chance to eat at four of the restaurants all of which were really good with the exception of the Asian restaurant took way too long for service, which was a shame because the food was good For the price point it wasn’t a bad deal.

I liked the proximity to the airport and that it had a great beachfront. I spent 5 days and 4 nights. What I did not like. 1. Check-in procedure was tedious and lengthy. I did not receive the room that I booked. I was then told I was given an "upgrade" which wasn't. 2. Reservations at their restaurants did not guarantee you a timely seating. One of my reservations was 8:30pm, we weren't seated until almost 10 pm. The service was extremely slow, hot foods were served cold. I had to request multiple times for napkins, which was strange to me because when other people who did not look like me were seated they were automatically given utencils and dinner napkins. After attempting a second restaurant with a repeat of the above scenario, I took my complaints to guest services. They booked and confirmed us at Taj, Indian cuisine.Thankfully, from beginning to end that was a great experience! 3. I traveled with 3 of my children and we were accosted in the lobby by a member of the Prime team who sells timeshare at this property. He claimed he was a supervisor and demanded to know where we were going. Keep in mind, I booked this resort on my own, I was not a timeshare guest, I was not even aware of this nightmare I walked into. I DEFINITELY would not book here again.I actually have placed Cancun on my no fly list after this series of negative experiences. P.S. Special thanks to the Supervisor Adriana in guest services, who was empathetic and attempted to do service recovery.
