What a lovely hotel! As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a smile and welcome. We had room 701 which was a fabulous room, spacious and clean. Loads of hot water, ideal for a bath. Even though it is in the centre of town we were not bothered by noise at all. The breakfast was great and catered well for GF. We have stayed at a few hotels in the past when visiting Cardiff but this will definitely be our choice in the future.

The floor in the room was very sticky and the air con was noisy. The room only had a small box window which made it feel quite claustrophobic. Well located for the station. Friendly staff and good breakfast.

The breakfast was very good, especially the croissants. The first room I was given was poor, wifi didn’t work and was up on the 6th floor with no view (window was small and above my head) and the room was quite small. After requesting another room, this one was slightly better but the bed is shockingly noisy and the walls between rooms is paper thin, someone in the next room dropped something and it sounded like something fell off my bedside table I even looked around for what could have fallen it was so loud and sounded so close. Despite being a platinum VIP I was not provided the opportunity for a room upgrade so can’t comment on any other rooms. The hotel is on a main pedestrian road but I didn’t realize it’s surrounded by night clubs and gentleman’s clubs so it’s a little uncomfortable going out in the evening as there’s lots of people screaming shouting and everything else, however it was convenient. Decent hotel, if you’re not too fussed about the night life and don’t have loud people next door then you will probably enjoy.

The hotel has 2 entrances: 1st) entrances Westgate leads to a lift and is step free entrance 2nd) St Marys Street has stairs whether you walk or get the lift. Reception is on the second floor I was informed on check the hotel can only keep bags till 5pm and you have two pay after 2pm with money going to a local charity. Due to having gold status I got breakfast for free but it was very poor and most of it was cold, bacon looked raw.
