A fabulous overnight stay. Enjoyed the Summer sunny evening vibes in the lovely beer garden with an excellent pint of Brakspear Gold. Dinner in the restaurant was very good as was breakfast the following morning. Would definitely stay again
This property was beautiful at the entrance and restaurant. The room was outdated, tiny and one set of outlets. The window needed to remain open due to no air conditioning and the room was loud and stifling. Would not recommend.
The hotel was lovely, the staff helpful and the restaurant had excellent food. The only downsides were that it was quite warm with no fan or ac and our daughter’s room was at the very top of some stairs that were daunting.
Enjoyable stay for one night in the cosy double. Fine for a night as a solo traveler but a bit too small for much longer. Overall the property is really nice - service a bit patchy at busy times I sensed, but overall friendly and would return
Amazing and energetic staff. The room was absolutely adorable, just what we were hoping for in the English countryside. I would recommend this to absolutely everyone.
We liked the location, lovely decorated room, spacious airy restaurant.
We did not like the continuous music in the garden which was quite loud and otherwise would have been very pleasant space.
Very nice place, modern room and facilities with a cosy country feel. Unfortunately my room was directly above the restaurant / bar area so was quite noisy. Dinner was excellent, breakfast was over cooked and poor. Staff were all amazing. Bedside tables were a little dusty.
Our family stayed here our last night in the UK, and it was a beautiful place to end our trip! The location is perfect for walking around Stow-on-the-Wold, we were able to park behind the Inn, and the food at the restaurant was very good! The rooms are so comfortable and cute. FYI there isn't an elevator, so be prepared!

The property was a in good condition and had parking which was excellent.
The Sheep is outstanding and Stow-in-the-Wold is a treasure.
Staff are friendly and helpful, going above and beyond in providing information for your Cotswolds visit.
The entire place - rooms and restaurant - have just been completely refurbished as of 2025. It's simply gorgeous with modern comforts while maintaining the character of its 17th century origin.
The restaurant is excellent. Be sure to make dinner reservations as it is very popular with local folks as well as visitors.
The shower didn’t work you had to manually hold it up to use it and the bath panel was broken. The blind was covered in stains. When we told the receptionist about the shower she said “that is unfortunate”
Staff in the restaurant and bar were exceptional. Room was great #6. However, stairs are narrow and a bit hardy to navigate. Restaurant was exceptional with a variety of selections. Stayed as a base and took day trips around the area. Parking was not good. Too small and very limited. Nearby restaurants were exceptional.
Beautiful quaint hotel, clean and comfortable bed with amazing snug bedding! Large bar and restaurant area with very helpful and attentive staff, will definitely stay again.
The bed was comfy, the shower was nice and hot and the breakfast was lovely.
However, our room (14B) was incredibly smelly. It smelt damp and there are visible signs of damp in the room.
The TV had no signal so we looked at the TV and the dust and dirt behind the TV was unacceptable.
There is paint peeling off the walls above the bed, tired furniture and big horrible tea and coffee stains all over the carpet.
I appreciate that we stayed over a Bank Holiday Weekend but I don't believe the room was worth the price.
The room reeked and needs some TLC.
