I recently stayed at the Knickerbocker Hotel and had a mixed experience with their check-in process. They offered a pre-check-in link via text, which asked me to upload my ID and credit card details ahead of time. I went through all the steps expecting a smoother arrival. Unfortunately, when I got to the front desk, they still required my ID and credit card all over again. In the end, the pre-check-in didn’t save any time and felt unnecessary. The hotel itself was fine, but they might want to refine their check-in process so guests don’t have to do the same steps twice.

This hotel is perfect! So well located, easy walk to all the main sights. And it’s beautiful, the art deco entrance is worth a photo or two as is the ballroom. And the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Loved it.

Smoky room

It is a very old hotel, so that is a given. Lobby is beautiful . Room was tiny, looked over backs of old buildings, and the worst part was the smell in the room. It says non smoking, but my room smelled like cigarette smoke. The window only opened about 2 inches, but that saved me… we had a concert to go to, or I would have tried to move. I will not return .

It was a cool and historic hotel with a nice martini bar and a nice restaurant to eat breakfast at. The room was updated and comfortable with a nice big walk in shower. It is close to Michigan Avenue and the Magnificent Mile and a convenient location to walk to other attractions and places of interest. I would definitely stay there again.

Very outdated hotel with smelly carpets and old furniture. Beds are not comfortable, flat pillows( just one for each). We did not get room service. Front desk staff very indifferent. It is not a 4 star hotel. Location is great.
