Okay

The main areas are nice, and breakfast was good, but the room was tired and a a bit shabby. Radiator didn't work so very cold. Very thin duvet. Could all use a refresh. Okay but not great for the price!

Staff was nice, although a little unprofessional in the bar area. Property is very dated with worn out carpets, old furnishings, stained tub. Despite poor general upkeep, it appeared to be clean when looking closer. Bed was small and very uncomfortable- could feel springs. We would not choose to stay here again.

Great Staff

Hotel is dated but clean and comfortable, Bar food was good quality and reasonably priced. Breakfast very good is a buffet breakfast. Staff were efficient and very pleasant, I needed to change rooms prior to check in due to mobility issues, they readily acceded to my request. Good hotel would recommend easily.

The staff gave us, including our wee dog, a warm welcome and they were helpful throughout our stay. We had a front facing room, overlooking the loch. It was stunning! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The view from the hotel is wonderful but it sits on the main road into and out of Fort William so there is a lot of traffic noise. On one of the nights we stayed, there was a loud conversation outside the building at 1.30 am and people began moving around, banging doors, etc from 5.30 am. There is little sound proofing and the room doors need to be forcefully pulled to close so don't expect to sleep much. Otherwise it is basic accommodation and adequate breakfasts.

The staff was very friendly but the hotel need’s refurbishing. Our room smelled of mold or must. Linoleum peeling up in bathroom, carpet stained, fixtures outdated. Breakfast was good. View was lovely but would not stay again due to mold smell.

Really good base

The property doesn't look the most appealing from the outside and the room I had was booked at a budget rate, meaning some of the decor and sanitary ware was a little tired. For the price I paid, this was an excellent base and good value. I had everything I needed in a clean, comfortable and spacious room, which made for a good private space to relax at night. I also enjoyed the food and drink in the restaurant, which was not overpriced. Some of the staff were a little curt and not the most welcoming or hospitable but I can deal with this when travelling on a budget, if my priority is a good, comfortable and safe base. This wouldn't put me off using this again.

This is a good budget hotel in a tourism town. It is old and worn, but it is kept clean. The single room was small (no room to open a regular sized suitcase), the bed was decently comfortable, and the shower had lots of pressure and hot water. The highlight of the Caledonian is the beautiful view of Loch Linnhe and the very ample breakfast with lots of hot and cold options. Note that the hotel is outside of Fort William, so it is not walkable (unless you like long walks).

The hotel is on the older side but still amazing. The staff is what sends it way over 5 stars! The views from the loch side are amazing!
