I booked a room with a view of the racecourse I was given the end room on the ground floor and I had a view of a muddy patch with a learner driving school using the waste land. I paid extra for that room and it was a dark room too. Breakfast was an abomination! The breakfast area was filthy with waffle mix all over! The staff obviously couldn’t keep on top of the cleaning- only 1 coffee machine working and also that area was minging too, I didn’t eat a breakfast I had toast as my husband made it for me but had I seen the area first I would’ve declined. I was very disappointed with Hilton hotels on this occasion. When checking out I waited for the manager to ask if everything was ok with my stay but he just looked at me and said yes you can go you don’t need to pay anything….. I then informed him of the problem with the breakfast area he gave the usual oh I’ll speak to blah blah blah but how could he not see this himself?( I wish I’d taken my phone with me and took pictures ) apparently it’s ok to have a breakfast are that’s dirty and looks like a bomb has gone off is ok as it was busy- yuk! I won’t be returning.

Disappointing

Paid for a room with a view and I shouldn't have bothered. It was very poor. The menu in the restaurant was rubbish, and it seemed full of microwave food. I decided to go out for food. Location was great. Disappointed overall

Nice and friendly staffs. Local shopping is 5 mins away (Driving). The room was clean but the bed was not comfortable, very springy, quite hard for me.

Our Personal Review

1st time at this hotel. First impressions great. Reception - check-in, was good staff friendly. Lifts are a good size. Twin room- layout good - furniture works it flows i really like the overall feel of both our room & bathroom. The positioning of the toilet i like. Shower good size. Our room was straight through coming off the lift. Works for us. The colours the decor the design in our room we really like. The overall hotel itself is fresh and newish still. The heating/air con in the room was great. If got too hot could quickly cool it and vice versa- findings the balance took a bit of tweeking but once there all good. Breakfast was good varied choices, we stayed 2 nights so the breakfasts had changes to them each day. We are definitely going to come back when the horse racing day is on & select a racecourse facing room as this would be fab to sit and watch from your bedroom window as big floor to celiing windows. Ideally they have one thats accesable & double/king bed instead. As a hotel we would give overall a 7/8 out of 10. ** a couple of points that would elavate things. ** Pillows - these were not comfortable far too soft and the other far too flat. plus side we were given a extra 2 pillows but we could of had 4. Mattress while great quality a bit too hard maybe a thicker topper would give the balance. The base of the bed a divan type its shiny wood type- the mattress moves trying to get on the bed - *Ideally fixers could be added on 4 corners sort issue.
