The welcome upon check in was a little rocky feeling, we were stressed from a long travel day and didn’t feel put at ease while checking in, as I felt the staff could have been more welcoming. The first night was rough as our bed was uncomfortable and didn’t feel like a hotel bed. We were able to request a mattress pad and more pillows and that greatly improved our comfort and sleep the following night. Aside from that, we were given two rooms with the ocean view which was not our original booking, so that was a HUGE plus and we are very grateful we got to experience that. Although we knew going in the lagoon tower was undergoing renovations, we hardly noticed it - even walking the long way around to the other entrance by the lagoon was not a big deal in the slightest. The pool was great and we were always able to find a seat, even on its busiest days. The room and bathroom were well cleaned and we did feel comfortable after the first night. I would recommend staying at this resort and absolutely request the ocean views. We also got to enjoy morning yoga by the ocean and saw a whale and dolphins. It was incredible and if we are on the big island again, we will request the lagoon tower ocean view room.

Great service, very clean, nice location right next to the beach. The restaurant in hotel has good food, reasonable prices; we could watch sunset while eating in there. We enjoyed our stay there. Highly recommended!

Staff was great! Water temperature in the pool was very cold. I swim regularly and I could barely stay in. Food at their restaurant was great and happy hour had great prices. Shower temperature was hit or miss. We had a great view of waves and the ocean. Facilities were clean.

The rooms were clean but even though they were somewhat updated, the hotel in general felt quite old and run down. Staff were pleasant and the pool area is really nice. Best beach bar and happy hour is just down the road at On The Rocks!

We had an overall okay stay, but for the price, we expected much better communication and hospitality. The hotel room itself was fine, but the bathroom was very small and felt dingy, which was disappointing for a resort stay. Prior to arriving, I emailed the hotel to let them know we were celebrating both our anniversary and my partner’s birthday and asked if anything could be placed in the room as a surprise. Unfortunately, nothing was acknowledged or done, which felt like a missed opportunity—especially given how common these requests are at resorts. Another major issue was the resort restaurant. We were never informed at check-in about restaurant hours or given an overview of the property layout. When we came down at 8:20 PM, the restaurant was closing at 8:45 PM, and we were met with a rather rude attitude despite still being within operating hours. The food itself was just okay, but very overpriced for the quality, which didn’t match the resort pricing or expectations. A small positive was that we never had to wait long for the elevator, which was appreciated. However, overall, the lack of communication, inattentiveness to special occasions, and high prices for mediocre food really took away from the experience.
