Marbella is home to luxurious conventions, hotels and golf resorts that offer a heady mix of business and pleasure. Marbella's hotels, like the Grand Melia don Pepe, often offer small convention and exposition rooms, while specific buildings like the Marbella Trade Fair and Conference Centre are built for the purpose. The Marbella Convention Centre is considered one of the best in Spain, with top of the line amenities, five auditoriums, and nearby access to swimming pools, spas, and a golfing resort.
Marbella's hundreds of restaurants are a site to see, but most tourists unfortunately don't have the time to try them all. Fine dining connoisseurs can seek out the city's three Michelin restaurants, the El Lago, the Skina, and the Calima. Nueva Coscada, Pantogonica, and Patio are also popular.
Shopping in the city is easy, as the majority of hotels in Marbella are located just outside of shopping districts and streets. Like many Spanish towns, Marbella's shops are often scattered throughout the city, but Old Town is considered the best place for souvenirs. The Plaza del Torros Nueva Andalucia is a market open on Saturday's and a must-see for anyone who can make it.
While the tourist attractions in Marbella are few, they are certainly interesting to see. Visitors can visit the Torre Ladrones tower, the Basilica de Vega Del Mar church, the Plaza de los Naranjos, and Sohail Castle for a glimpse of historic Spain. The Selwo Marina just outside of the city is also popular. Additionally, the Golden Mile of Nuevo Andalucia is one of Marbella's best tourist spots.
Marbella is very popular for its football, and their team, Marbella FC, play at the Estadio Municipal del Marbello Stadium, which holds some 7,300 people. The city also hosts the Marbella Cup, which is a friendly winter football competition.
