This is a well located hotel with parking. It’s dog friendly and there’s a park within a couple of minutes. The staff are all excellent but sometimes there aren’t enough (especially during a busy breakfast). The rooms are a bit tired but they’re fine for the price.

The Moorings is our "go to" every time we visit Scotland. It is convenient to the train station and easy to get to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and anywhere in the country. The rooms are always very clean and the staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The food is fabulous, whether a full Scottish breaky, or soup and sandwich for lunch or a gourmet meal for dinner. We also love to hang out in the bar and have friends from the area meet us for a few drinks in the evening with our favorite bartender, Krystoph.
