The room was very small but clean, modern-looking and cozy. The bed was comfy. The bathroom looked nice. Everyone we spoke to was very nice. That's it. There so many maintenance issues. The shower alternated lukewarm and cold water. There was a strong air-freshener smell coming out of the vents (the staff offered to "air it out", aka "open the window"). One of the three elevators was broken, so we waited 5 minutes to squeeze into a very crowded elevator. The toilet paper was thin and cheap. There was just one flimsy bar of soap and tiny bottle of lotion. They left us two comically small water bottles in the fridge. We paid $300 for this off-seasons. It was a tolerable stay, but we definitely won't be back.

We arrived at the AC Hotel Downtown NY for our first ever trip to NYC Dec 26-30 at 1pm. We paid for a 2m check in and we were in our room at 2:00pm. The staff at check in were very friendly and held our bags for us while we relaxed on the 2nd floor. We were given waters and sent on our way to our room on the 25th floor. We had a view of the East River and Downtown. The room wasn’t very big but it was clean. I understand most NYC hotel rooms aren’t large. We have a family of 4 so we had two beds. The room was clean and smelled nice. I thought the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and shower was plenty spacious. There’s not a lot of room for luggage but we made do. We weren’t in the room much anyway. We just slept there as we were out in the city all day and only returned back at night. I thought the location was convenient to some close attractions like the Statue of Liberty and 9/11 Memorial and Museum. We also felt safe which was important to me. It was also convenient to a couple of subway stations. Overall I would stay there again and thought it was a good value, especially at Christmas when NYC hotel prices are very high.

Staff was super friendly helpful. Everything was great except they did maintenance on hot water line one day we were there. There wasn’t any notice. Air and brown liquid was coming out of the sink and shower. Had to run it for about 15 minutes to clear it out. I understand maintenance, but would have been nice to be notified so we could plan ahead. I’ll tell the central located., clean, and quiet. No microwave in the room.

We had a pleasant stay overall! The staff was consistently kind, courteous, and welcoming, which really stood out and made the experience more enjoyable. The hotel was clean and well-maintained—while I wouldn’t describe it as absolutely spotless, it was definitely very clean and comfortable. I also appreciated the large shampoo and body wash bottles in the shower. One small note for future guests: our room was listed as “River view,” but it was more of a partial/side view of the river. This wasn’t an issue for us, but it may matter to some travelers. Overall, a solid stay with friendly service and thoughtful amenities 😊
