I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Hampton Inn. From the moment we arrived, we encountered several issues that significantly affected our experience. On the first night, the shower only produced warm/hot water, even when set to cold. The next day, due to heat and walking, I developed chafing and urgently needed a cold shower. Despite following instructions to run the water for 15 minutes, the issue persisted. A technician attempted a fix but was unsuccessful. I had to use a cup to collect cold water from the sink in order to wash. The following day, after being away all day and complain in the morning, we found the problem unresolved. Another technician repeated the same failed process. Only after repeated complaints were we offered access to another room for showering. Additionally, breakfast was extremely poor—limited variety, dry bread, and tasteless eggs. The room lacked cleanliness, had dusty doors, and only one roll of toilet paper. The hotel is clearly in need of renovation and better maintenance. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Due to the discomfort, poor service, and lack of basic amenities, I am requesting a full refund for my stay.

Excellent location, best service

Bed was a bit hard. The food was acceptable. The service was excellent. Just that 2 small elevators are not enough on weekends and during rush hours - morning breakfast time and just before checkout time. Best part is they allow you to keep your luggage in the hotel after checkout for no charge if your flight is later in the day. Can go out for lunch and a bit of city walk/watching and come back to hotel to pick up the bags and drive off to the airport. The location is excellent. Close to subway stations, port authority bus terminal and Times Square. Everything is within walking distance. Will stay again here if we visit NYC.

Ok hotel, at best it'll be fine.

The location is great but the hotel was small, small rooms with a small breakfast area. This small breakfast area was then chaos in the morning with ad-hoc queuing and queue jumping. The room was tired and relatively clean with a very loud AC unit. Of the 3 ice machines I tried to use, only the one outside the fitness centre worked. The staff were all polite and attentive.

The hotel is in a convenient location and the staff were friendly enough. However, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The hotel itself is quite small, and breakfast felt chaotic — more of a free-for-all than a relaxed start to the day. The most concerning issue occurred on our first night. After checking in and spending the day exploring New York, we returned to the room only to discover blood on the quilt when getting into bed. This was completely unacceptable and understandably made us feel uncomfortable for the remainder of the trip. It’s a real shame, as this could have been a decent stay, but cleanliness and attention to detail are basic expectations that were not met

Hotel Needs An Upgrade

The hotel is extremely outdated and in need of an upgrade or remodeling. The showers are very small; there are only 2 elevators used by both the guests and hotel staff making the wait time for an elevator extremely long and the rooms are very small as well. The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was pretty good. However, I wouldn't recommend anyone staying in this hotel.

Awful and dirty. Bed full of urine.

Awful hotel dirty and shabby. Our first room we got i pulled out the sofa bed for the kids abd it was soaked in urine and faeces and dirt. Compelty wet. The room smelt so bad. I was horrified and went straight to receptions. We got a new room. Also unclean but didnt have choice. Breakfast not good. All single use cutlery and plates no eco considerations at all. The worst hotel ive stayed in new york. Pictures make it look so much nicer. More like a hostel. So run down.

Budget hotel in a good spot.

Good location, down just off the Main Street and very easy walk to Times Square. Check the hotel address before you go in your cab from the airport - another hotel really close by with the same name and the taxi took us to that one. Had to walk round the corner and saw several people over the course of our stay doing the same walk. Rooms are fine, but not fancy/spacious. Budget accommodation of course so can’t complain with that. Staff were helpful, couldn’t fault them. Breakfast area is small and gets very busy. Have breakfast before 8:30 - we grabbed plates and ate in our room as tables usually full. Pretty good selection of food, couple of hot items, cereal, fruit, bread, yoghurt. The lifts get busy at that time too - we were quicker taking the stairs, but were only 4th floor so not suitable for all. No view from the room sadly(side of another building). Maybe higher floors do but I couldn’t say. Room had a fridge, iron and coffee maker. I’d happily stay again, albeit definitely scope for a good clean and upgrade. Done the job we needed though. :)
