In a quiet backstreet but only ten minutes walk from town centre. It is also easier to exist on a budget as there is so much street food nearby. For staff: Very good service, it would have been nice to tell us where is the breakfast restaurant when we arrived and ...

Visible from most of South Phuket, the Big Buddha statue stands an impressive 45 metres high. The smaller Buddha statue next to it appears to be made of gold but is actually brass. For something that you are equally unlikely to see at home, attend a Thai boxing match.
As a tropical island, Phuket is a magnet for scuba divers and is one of the top ten scuba dive destinations in the world. Snorkelling and surfing are other water-based activities you can try, but if you prefer to stay on dry land, Phuket is Thailand's premier destination for warm weather golf.
