Fantastic old hotel, our room had oak paneling and ensuite unusually with a jacuzzi! Staff very friendly and helpful. Good food in the restaurant. We didn't find out why they don't do Welsh breakfast but the continently breakfast was vert adequate.

Toilet regulations

Through my fifty year career I stayed in hundreds of hotels at home and abroad and almost never encountered this issue: The toilet bowl in the bathroom of Room 10 is at least six inches too high off the floor. This is not conducive to correct posture when performing! I had thought that there were building standards/regulations covering this.

The room was comfortable, but unfortunately there was no hot water during our stay, so none of us could take a proper shower. I reported this at checkout and followed up by email, but received no response.

The room was a bit dated. When I booked the hotel I requested that I didn’t get an accessibility room with a wet room. This is exactly what I got. I did mention it at reception to be told that Hotels.com book certain rooms and they can’t change anything. I stay in hotels all the time and never had this. No option of cooked breakfast either.

Brilliant

Fantastic stay at this charming hotel. All staff are friendly and welcoming and provide superb service. We had made a last minute decision to visit the Royal Welsh show and were so lucky to obtain a room here. Will definitely visit again.

Comfy bed, characterful hotel, poor breakfast

One night stay. Comfy bed in slightly old fashioned hotel/inn. Shower a bit weak and lukewarm and breakfast not impressive but otherwise fine.
