Stay away unless you’re just here for the location

Watch out anyone that wants to breathe at night! The room smelled so bad and they couldn’t help. They told us that maybe a different room would open up the next night, but that doesn’t help the first night. You’re paying for the location here, which is admittedly great, but I’ll never stay here again.

This property is very well located and great for families with lots of games in the courtyard. The room was small - room enough for 2 full beds and nothing else - no chair or seating. We had a balcony, but it was in the shade and generally too cold to enjoy beyond the partial bay view. The bathroom was a little dated and the toilet didn’t flush easily. Not what you would expect for $450/night, but there were a lot of events in town this weekend and many hotels were sold out. For the location, this was the best property available.

The game room at hotel zephyr was amazing. My kids looked forward to coming back to the e hotel and playing pool, ping pong, corn hole and foosball and making s'mores each night.

The property is not well maintained and it seems to be in less than average condition. The corridors smelled bad and they were filthy. The bedroom had clean linens but the carpet also looked and felt dirty. The elevator felt poorly maintained also as it had a some kind of a mechanical problem. The hotel is conveniently located to access Pier 39, but it was very noisy. I would not recommend this hotel only for the sake of being so close to Pier 39. There are other options close by that seemed much better.

Plus: Great for families. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. They have a bar conveniently across the courtyard. Staff and concierge was super helpful and friendly. Negative: Room closet door and safe were broken and the water dispenser on our floor was not working either. We had a wonderful time. Thank you.
