One of my favorite hotels to stay at in the city. Always feel safe and comfortable in their rooms, it's a beautiful hotel, great bar and the piano is always played weekends and really sets a great tone to a stay in the city. The rooftop bar is an awesome experience as well, the views are incredible. The price is worth it, usually only like 50 bucks more than other poorly tended hotels and its right across from a Walgreen's and smack dab in the middle of union square!

I stayed at the hotel for 1 night for business purposes. Check in was okay, room was clean, bright and very comfortable. Bar on the mezzanine level was nice (little expensive and took too long for a drink). Check out was quick and fast and the hotel was close to the office, restaurants and shopping!! Great for overnight for work or for visiting SF!

When we got to our room, I could see that it was a classic, not a grand (which is what I paid for). When i went to the desk to ask, the person insisted that it was a grand room. I felt uncomfortable but still said that I was judging based on pictures online. She said the rooms can vary from the pictures online. She then said she found one room that is a little bigger than the one she originally put me in and can put me in there, like she was doing me a favor. I thanksed her profusely. When I got to the room, i could see that it was indeed the grand room I paid for. I'm not sure why she didn't just say sorry about putting me in the wrong room at first and instead chose to gaslight me about the room. It made the whole experience really unpleasant. This is the second time I have stayed here and it will be my last.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful for starters. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was very friendly. The room was cozy, with a comfy bed and wonderful bath products. I would highly recommend this hotel! And I also recommend the ricotta pancakes for breakfast. Chef’s kiss.

We were quite disappointed with our room, as it was situated right behind the very noisy elevators, which were in use 24/7. When we brought it up to the front desk, they were not too helpful. They said we booked a king bed, not that we knew those rooms were right at the elevator. We would have happily booked a queen sized room, however that was only available as a doube queen bedroom, which we did not want,as we were only 2 people. The staff did not make any effort to accomodate us with a different room. We had breakfast one morning. It was good, but way over priced for what we got. Sounded good on the menu, but was nothing special when it came out. The waiter was very professional.

Unfortunately, not everyone enjoys their job — or at least doesn’t hate it. We came across a bald man who couldn’t even bring himself to be polite. Apart from that, the hotel is excellent, and the rest of the staff are friendly.
