Check-in is at 3pm. This is taken literally ie they start checking people in at exactly 3pm and hand out tickets to form a queue… a frankly bizarre experience in a hotel if this standard! Many guests arrive very early because of flights from Europe and it’s not unusual for room not to be ready. But usually you can check in and simply go to your room when ready. This rather took the edge of what is pretty good hotel in a convenient location.

Convenient from Haneda Airport by train and close to many subway and train options for sightseeing. The staff speak excellent English. Shiodome itself is a modern office park and so a little sterile but there are many great food options on the other side of the nearby Shimbashi station.

Nice enough, let down by facilities

Good location for metro, rooms were fine and clean. Only negatives were bar closed at 20.30, although there are vending machines and restaurant closed after lunch so no dinner available.

The hotel stay was a great option for travelers not wanting to be in the busiest parts of Tokyo. It is quiet and there are enough amenities for the everyday need. You will need to use public transit and/or taxi to go to restaurants or shopping. In conclusion the hotel and staff are great and you're not too far from Shibuya and Shinjuku. So if you don't mind having an authentic Japanese experience by using public transit(which connects directly to the hotel) then the Hotel Villa Fontaine is a good option for the price.

*Honest Review* The hotel was clean as far as clean goes, however it gave motel. Very outdated. The lobby looks amazing. You would think you’re about the get a 5 star room and then very basic and very very tight vs the two hotels I stayed in Tokyo and Osaka before ending my trip back in Tokyo. There is a train like right within which was I guess cool but I wouldn’t recommend or stay here again. Staff ofc is very pleasant and attentive as all staff in Japan.

This is not a 4 star hotel. The towels are terrible! Almost impossible to use them. The hotel is beautiful but the bathroom is tiny, the shower is not good and the towels are so thin and small that they look more like cleaning cloths.
