This was one of our favorite lodging experiences on a 17-day trip to Ireland and Scotland. The hotel is a lovely historic property in a lovely town convenient to Dublin. Our rooms were clean and updated. Although the food at the hotel restaurant is quite good (better than typical, in my experience), we were particularly pleased to "discover" Dempsey's, a traditional, local pub just up the street. Do yourself a favor and spend a day (or half day) in the nearby (10 minutes drive) coastal town of Skerries. It was recommended to us by a local as a more convenient alternative to Dun Laoghaire south of Dublin. Skerries didn't disappoint. It's a wonderful town! Overall, we were extremely pleased both with the Bracken Court Hotel, and with Balbriggan and the surrounding area!

Driving through the Main Street towards the hotel and it had a lot of abandoned properties. We were quite worried about he rooms as the hotel itself looked very old and in a bad area of town. We were able to walk to the beach but the side road was closed for construction. Not a great beach anyways. Nothing to do in the area either. Room was VERY spacious and nice but no wifi signal in our room 210. Great signal in dining room and bar. Good free breakfast options. Free parking.

Food was very disappointing and it took way too long to be served,way too expensive for all that is on your plate. Room wasn't made up.Breakfast on the other hand was excellent and the waitresses first class. Bar staff were nice and friendly

We stayed here for 1 night. Check-in was very easy, staff were very friendly. Car parking was available on sight to the right of the door. The room however was dated, there were cracks in the bathroom tiling and hair was present in the bath/shower from previous guests. They did however offer a good range of amenities. The hairdryer was broken in the room and dated. The bed however was very comfy though we were woken up around 3 in the morning by a scratching noise which we originally thought was someone trying to get into the room. The noise eventually stopped but happened again around 8.30 the next morning numerous times so we thought it may be a rodent of some kind though there was no evidence of this in the room

We had originally booked this hotel for two nights. When we got to our room all we could smell was cigarette smoke. We went to the front desk and asked if they had another room available as I am asthmatic but they could not provide us with another room. I was very worried staying there for the one night due to my breathing but had no choice as there was no other vacancies around. Due to it being a health situation we were able to book another hotel for the second night. We spoke to Maria at the desk to get a refund for the second night and had a representative from Expedia speak with Maria confirming that they would refund us. Looks like Maria was deceiving us as we received an update from Expedia saying the hotel would not refund us. This was a health concern this hotel is clearly not rated right as I always check the rating prior to booking due to health concerns. I would rate this hotel and their staff at a 2. We were very disappointed in Maria, the hotel and Expedia.

Big clean rooms, center of the village and a short walk to the beach. Train to the city takes 45 minutes - and only a 20 minute drive to the airport. Value for money - cheaper than Dublin city centre!

Hot and noisy

My room on the fourth floor was way too hot and didn't have a fan. Opening the window was noisy due to traffic and a pedestrian crossing. There was free onsite parking.

The hotel is lovely, within walking distance of everything, restaurant serves lovely food, fantastic breakfasts, rooms were big, bed comfortable, and free parking which is right next door, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend, we will definitely be back
