Property located on water, our room view was parking lot but we walked along water, nice path, quiet and safe to walk for pizza and ice cream. Spent next day at Fort Knox park. Only stayed one night. Room was de orated in a classic floral explosion but was clean and met our needs.
Decent central location to crash at night and explore during the day. Excellent views of Pen Bay & bridge. Nice waterfront walking path. Fair amount of places to eat with quirky business hours. Supermarket and fast food joints nearby.
A clean and quie hotel to rest your traveling body
Wonderfully located in the heart of Bucksport right on the Penobscot River with an unobstructed view of the impressive Penobscot Narrows Bridge.
The hotel is old in its furnishings but cleaner than many newer hotels.
They must have done some renovations as the walls seem to be freshly painted and all seams in the bathroom are recaulked bright-white. Even the sink and bathtub, albeit dated, are white and spotless. A shout-out to the cleaning crew for this! They must have some special tricks up their sleeves.
The bed was very comfortable.
I also loved that i was able to open the windows. That is rarely possible in the new hotels.
My room to the back was very quiet which i loved as well.
The only thing that was confusing to me: there was a smell on towels and linens that reminded me of some disinfectant used in thrift stores. My suggestion: better use bleach.
Somehow I either put wong date in computer or it got mixed up, so I was a day early. Between lady at front desk and Expedia with a simple phone call they fixed it with no penalty charge snd we had a room. Thank you Fort Knox park inn and also Expedia for making it right for me.
Great stay. Room had a great view of the Fort Knox bridge and the water was beautiful. The room seemed recently renovated. Everything was clean and in new condition. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel
Employees were friendly and helpful. Very happy with our stay. Thank you.
I will definitely stay here again. The hotel's back rooms face the river. I had a riverview, which was amazing. You can see Pen Bay, the Pen Bay Bridge, and Fort Knox from a riverview room. The rooms are nicely furnished and spacious. Great hotel!
The view is amazing if facing river especially at night when bridge lights up. Most of the restaurants are closed until Wednesday, so plan ahead for breakfast especially.
This property was in such a great location for our needs. After checking-in, there were a number of restaurants within walking distance and a yummy ice cream shop just down the street. We had a gorgeous view of the Penobscot River and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge which is lit up at night.
We lucked out with being there for Bucksport's yearly festival. My kids loved the bouncy houses and shopping at the vendor's tents. We were able to walk right out of our room to see the fireworks that evening.
Side note: reviewers mention the outdated comforters, but you can ignore those comments. This is a historic hotel with a certain style. The bedspreads have large flowers, but they are not old.
The view from our room was exceptional, right on the River looking at Ft. Knox. We happened to be here for a festival and were treated to wonderful fireworks from our window. Not a lot of food choices for dinner, but we had pizza at the popular pizza place and it was very good. Suspension Bridge was lighted all night which added to the view.
Just what a small motel/hotel in a small town in Maine out to be, in my opinion. Room was comfortable. View was great. AC worked well. Windows were openable foir fresh night air. Pillows and mattress were fine. Enough outlets. Clean and well-maintained.
This hotel offers absolutely beautiful views of the bridge and river, both day and night. This is an older establishment, but very clean, everything worked as it should, and the staff were very kind and accommodating. Located right along the river, with a nice walking path that runs right by the hotel. Felt safe and very peaceful. Would definitely recommend.
