This unique 60’s style mountain cottage is in the gorgeous mountains of north Buncombe county North Carolina. It offers two bedrooms, one bath, one additional double bed in sunroom. The home is handicap assessable. It boasts a large living room. Living room door leads to a deck. Guests can luxuriate in the wonderful step in therapeutic bathtub shower combination. Tub has air and water jets. Three decks. Outdoor fire pit. Home has whole house water filtration system, the waterhad been tested and is safe for consumption, the wonderful mountain water is drinkable from the tap! There is a small screened in porch off the sunroom which leads to another west facing deck. This home is wheelchair assessable. All decks are wheelchair accessible if needed. Just a short drive or walk to the Big Ivy Historical Park. The property is close to blue ridge parkway, 24 miles to Biltmore House, nine miles to Craggy Gardens, 27 miles to Wolf Laurel Ski area, Erwin Tennessee apple festival and strawberry festival is just over Sams Gap, Cherokee Indian reservation, Hot Srings North Carolina is appropriately 23 miles away and 99 miles to Gatlinburg Tennessee. Several Trout fishing streams in close proximity to the property with appropriate license (Look at the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission website for regulations). An additional night/nights discount will be offered to you after you book your minimum two night stay.

Booked the trip for my family of 5. We had a great time. The only negative thing I have to say is there is no signal out there unless you have Verizon. I didn't get the code beforehand as I normally just check my messages as I arrive, but there was no signal so I had to drive back towards town until I got a signal to call the host for the door code. Once inside the property, everything was good. If you have someone staying in the back room off the kitchen and it is cold, use the oil radiator provided otherwise it is very cold. Kitchen was well equipped, the only thing we missed was a toaster oven because we like to use those for buns, or cheese on toast, rather an actual toaster, which they did have. In all we had a good time. The property is about 25min drive to Asheville. We booked the property because the Vrbo app said the property was only 9miles from Mt. Mitchell, which was the whole reason we went, that is not correct, it was an hours drive. But that is not the host's fault, it was Vrbo's error. The host was great
During one of our hikes, we got to see a mama bear and her 2 babies.
During another hike, we got to see this big guy peeking up at us.

This was such a cozy stay. The owner Annette was very welcoming and made sure we had few areas so we could explore. the park a few minutes away was really nice.. and the tub was everyones favorite lol. Will definitely book again.

Clean and cool. Comfortable beds. Close enough to Asheville but remote enough to enjoy the night sky.Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Local gas station is a mini-grocery store so we didn't have to go back to town to get food.Definitely considering for the future.
