Eagle watching trip

A rough check-in. We used the phone to call someone to the front desk. We received our cards and went to the room. When we opened the door, the lights were on and the beds looked like they had been slept in. Not sure if the room was occupied or not cleaned, but we backed out quickly and went to the desk-again had to use the phone to call someone to the desk. She handed us keys again and said “try this one”. This room was clean and comfortable. Great breakfast selection in the morning, included at no charge.

The hotel is pet friendly which was very nice when traveling with your dog. I did not see any dog feces on the grounds which surprised me. The breakfast was a nice variety but the eggs and sausage gravy were very bland. The apple and banana were fresh and delicious.

The staff is always amazing. Water pressure is great. I really like the availability of frozen pizzas and other meals (for a fee) with small appliances to cook them up anytime if day is nice.

I booked a 2 queen bed handicapped accessible room. When I checked in, the only handicapped room they had was a single king bed room. That's just not acceptable. Also, The bed is far too high to be considered handicapped accessible. Then I found hair on the pillows. If I was not helping out my handicapped mother for an unexpected trip for a funeral, a normal double queen room probably would have been fine. The staff was nice and actually checked the bathroom handicap access in different rooms, but did not have a 2 bed accessible room. Since it was non refundable I had to choose the single king accessible room. This is an issue with Expedia and not necessarily the hotel.
