"Southern Exposure" is a beautifully decorated duplex with great panoramic views of both the ocean and canal from the top level kitchen, dining and living rooms.
Located in a quieter area of Carolina beach, our home has 6 spacious decks to sit back and relax either by enjoying the sunrise on one of the ocean facing decks, or the breathtaking sunset from one of the canal facing decks.
Take the stairs or elevator to relax and enjoy our Island Oasis of 3 levels of living space. The first floor has 2 queen BR’s, one with an en suite bathroom. Each with private decks. Another BR with a twin over full bed, as well as a full bath are also on this floor. The 2nd floor has 2 queen master BR’s with en suite bathrooms, both with jacuzzi tubs and stunning private deck views.
The upper level level has a spacious living room, kitchen and dining area with breathtaking views.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make your stay convenient, including ample granite counter space and 2 bar areas with stools to socialize while watching the chef cook. Stainless steel appliances, ice maker and wet bar are there to start your “Happy Hour” after a day at the beach, and continue out on the deck while enjoying the incredible sunset!
There are 4 TV’s throughout the house. A gas grill, guest storage locker with ample space for your gear, as well as beach chairs , umbrellas, beach cart and assorted beach toys available for your family. The back yard is perfect for a game of cornhole. The beach is a 3 minute stroll. Perfect for allowing you to go back and forth to your vacation home for lunch or a break from the sun and then return to your beach setup. Enjoy morning and evening beach walks, or an afternoon walk on the beach to the pier for great food or a cocktail at "High Tide" . Afterwards, enjoy showering off the sand and salt in the enclosed outside shower.
Parking for 4 cars makes Southern Exposure the perfect location for a relaxing and memorable family vacation! Linens and Bath Towels provided by professional service . Beds will be made for you upon arrival!
Great restaurants and activities are just a short drive or a 1 mile walk to enjoy what Carolina beach has to offer.
Explore the aquarium at Fort Fisher, CB State Park. Take the ferry to Southport, or enjoy the culture of the city of Wilmington. All just a short drive from CB.

We had an amazing stay at Southern Exposure! The home was beautiful, well-appointed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing trip. The owners were incredibly responsive and made the entire process smooth and stress-free.From the fully stocked kitchen to the beach chairs and wagon, every detail was thoughtfully included. Having an elevator was perfect for a smooth move in and out!The balconies on every level were a highlight—perfect for morning coffee or catching the sunset after a day at the beach. And speaking of location, you can’t beat it! Just a block and a half from the beach and close to everything Carolina Beach has to offer.Highly recommend Southern Exposure, we’re already looking forward to our next stay!

Southern Exposure truly lived up to its name—it gave us the warmth, space, and comfort we needed for a memorable family getaway. The house comfortably fit all eight of us and was stocked with everything we needed—including a mini ice-maker that came in clutch for the Bartesian cocktail machine we brought along!The beach was just steps away, and while we brought our own wagon, the extra one provided was a huge bonus for hauling chairs and gear. We also took a chartered fishing trip and a ferry ride to Southport—both highlights of the trip.The host was incredibly responsive and shared great suggestions, including where to watch fireworks without the crowds. From morning coffee on the ocean-side deck to game nights and beach days, this truly felt like a home away from home. We’ll definitely be back!

Great Place!

This house was amazing! Very clean and well taken care of. Location was perfect! Close to the beach to go walking and away from the crowds of the boardwalk. We would definitely recommend this place to anybody and stay in this house again! Thank you for a great vacation!

Fun in the sun!

We (9 of us) had a wonderful time here. Everything was clean and ready to go a few hours early even. The elevator was a huge hit and made things so much easier. The house came with a lot of beach basics that made the stay a lot more relaxing. And the location was perfect!

WEEK AT THE BEACH

We only had one week to get together as a family this year at the beach. We found this unit and it looked like it would fit our needs perfectly, and it did. We had plenty of room for the eight of us, it was very well kept and maintained, beautiful on the inside, a short walk to the beach and close to the boardwalk. Away from the resort, hotels and a decent location. We would definitely stay there again! Great for a large family!

Quiet neighborhood in late April. Elevator was useful. Kitchen is huge. Ice that there was bottled water provided as Carolina Beach water has an egg smell we weren’t used to. Could have used a few more pillows and don’t forget your beach towels! We really enjoyed the balconies.

Perfect Spot for a Family Vacation

Beautiful home easily accommodated a multi-generational family. Owner communication was top notch. The layout of the kitchen and living space on the upper level was fabulous with bedrooms located downstairs. We found the kitchen was equipped with everything we could have needed; plenty of dishes, silverware, pots, pans, etc. Just a short walk to an uncrowded beach. Plenty of beach gear available in the outdoor closet (a plus). Would definitely stay here again!

Family girls’ weekend to celebrate our beautiful Jewel! The home was welcoming and well stocked. Fabulous "FIND" for a 50th College Reunion get together w/FRIENDS!

This was an EXTRAORDINARY place to stay at Carolina Beach. Every ONE of my friends who joined me on this trip RAVED about the SOUTHERN EXPOSURE!! (We talked about how incredible it was ALL WEEK.) We have nothing but praise for our HOSTS who made the booking process, OUR week long reunion together, and the departure process SIMPLE, EASY, and were so welcoming and knowledgeable!! We had an awesome time at the beach. The house was great. It was exactly as advertised. It’s located close to everything at Carolina beach but not too close. Access to the beach is very close. Bill was very helpful and communicative. No problems with anything. Will be going back.

Great family vacation at Carolina Beach

Property was exactly as advertised. Property was also the most well stocked VRBO I/we have ever stayed at. It had all the essentials from TP to paper towels to straws and batteries this was not expected and a nice surprise. Location was .9 miles north of boardwalk so close enough to visit but far enough that our section of beach was NEVER crowded. Property had an elevator which helped with our party since my son is handicapped and he really appreciate. Ocean and Canal views were great. Would rent again. Thanks to Kathy and Bill for letting us stay in their home.

Beautiful Home!!!

This property is beautiful and fully stocked. There was nothing we were looking for while cooking or cleaning that this place didn’t have. It’s super clean and beautifully and comfortably decorated. The balconies off all rooms but one were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The beach was in walking distance and lots of other shops, rides, food, ice cream etc were a few minutes away. The owner touched base before and after our stay and went above and beyond recommending places to go for my family and friends. I really can’t say enough good things about this property and the owner. It’s definitely a must stay.

It is a great stay. It is the first time we had the chance to hangout with friends since the pandemic. The house has Plenty rooms for everyone to enjoy their spaces and everything you need you could find in the house. The location is perfect, very short walk to the beach.
