For the price, this inn is not bad; although I think the review is overrated, the blankets are so thin and the air conditioning too loud if I turn the heat on… you can hear noises outside, I probably should consider the casino hotel instead

Love this hotel. It is no ftills but has everything the matters to me (clean, safe, super friendly staff and close to so many attractions). I’ve already stayed here two separate times this month and am about to book again. It is my top choice in Cherokee. Also it is a central location to do day trips to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Bryson City, Dillsboro and even Asheville! And it’s super close to the Blue Ridge pkwy and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. !

The property and staff were very nice and professional. The rooms we got very clean and nicely appointed. The area around the inn is nothing to look at but safe and quiet with very low traffic. There is a convenience store right across the street. Unfortunately the single king room we got, there was some sort of motor or fan that had nothing to do with our room that was making a loud racket. The maintenance man had left for the day so they moved us into a double queen. Not what we wanted but acceptable. We thought all was well until we returned from our evening out at the casino to an air conditioner that wasn’t quite getting the job done. We managed as it worked intermittently but it was uncomfortable for my wife. I was fine. Overall, we will give Great Smokies Inn another go when we come back. We understand things breakdown and overall, it appeared the maintained the facilities very well. It is very convenient to the national park and Harrah’s Casino at a fraction of the price!
