SUPERB hotel stay!

Just a 1 night stay during a longer trip. Great experience, super room, bed & bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Location and price were big factors in choosing this hotel and we were exceptionally pleased. We would stay here again.

This property had complimentary US News papers. First time I have seen that since before COVID. All the others stopped it because of COVID and were too cheap to start it again.

Other than small mixup at checkin using Expedia, the room was ready early. Place is clean. Bed is comfortable. Easy free parking. Short drive to Univ of Iowa. Free standard hot breakfast. They also had free dinner but we did not try it. Place could be renovated as it seems dated (only reason I did not give 5 stars), but I would definitely stay there again for cleanliness, price, convenience, and friendly staff.

This is a wonderful place for families of patients at the hospital to stay. The shuttle is a plus, as are the meals.

Property location is good but my room, 208, was one of the dreariest I've stayed in for a while. There is a moisture or humidity issue in that room, perhaps elsewhere too from reviews I have now seen. Room seemed clean but smelled very dank, moist, gross (and I have a very poor sense of smell post-covid). Carpet felt moist, so much so that I didn't want to walk on it barefoot. Lighting is also poor, so with the dark carpet it felt cavelike. I know it is a budget offering but the smell/humidity is not welcome at any price point. Thank you
