Catalina Canyon Inn
"This hotel is located a good uphill walk from the shore, which we did not mind. There's a free shuttle if needed. Pros: Staff member Ophelia (who may be the manager?) was very kind and friendly! They were able to hold our luggage until it was time to check in. We were happy this place had a pool and an in-room fridge, microwave. The size of the room was satisfactory, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was large enough for 2 people to use the mirror at the same time, the blackout curtains were appreciated, there was a balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the garden, and there was an in-room safe. They offer free pool towels to check out. Cons: There is no indoor spot/table for 2 people to sit and eat at. It was odd to find one bar stool at the counter. The bathroom did not have a tub (even though I requested one). The freezer did not work as expected. We turned down the temp upon check-in and used the freezer for ice cream about 30 hours later only to find our dessert completely melted the next day. We wanted to watch the World Cup on TV but the reception was poor the majority of the time."
