I booked it for the shuttle access, and did what I needed it to do. I found the room way too hot and heard every plane going over head so did not sleep great. However the it suited my needs for access to the airport. I would stay again but I do think its a bit pricy for no sound proofing and no air conditioning. They did have a fan in the room which was a life saver. I bought a coffee in reception and it cost me €5 so won't be doing that again. Can't comment on staff as had absolutely no interaction with any other than the barista. I had checked in and out on line. Hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Unexpected great and comfortable stay

My adult daughter and I were arriving late at night and then had an early flight 30 hours later so chose to stay close to the airport. We had low expectations as a result but were pleasantly surprised with The Clayton. First, the hotel had a free shuttle to pick you up at the airport. Because it was midnight and we were so tired I thought we would just take a taxi but he wanted 20 euro for a five minute ride. So we took the shuttle which was waiting for us with a friendly driver and arrived at the hotel very quickly. Check in staff was also quick and pleasant and helped us get some food and drinks at that late hour from their lobby coffee bar. The room was really spacious with a separate sitting area and a work station. The bed was extremely comfortable. They also gave us complimentary bottled water which was great because we had forgotten to buy some. In the morning we looked out over a field with horses grazing….lovely! And then we took the shuttle back to the airport and hopped on the Dublin Express bus to spend the day in town. We also felt the hotel was very well priced for the quality of the room. And all the common areas were nicely maintained. No stains on rugs, no peeling wallpaper or chipped paint. Very fresh and inviting. I have never heard of or stayed at a Clayton hotel before but will look out for them on future travels based on this stay.

This is a very busy hotel, it's aged and needed some update. Free airport shuttle and close by Heathrow airport are the reasons we chose this hotel. Breakfast was great and they offered to go box if your check out is before breakfast starting time 6am. In house restaurant is convenient on a rainy day and food/service were not bad. We took taxi to Temple Bar and museums, cost about 40 Euro round trip, it would cost just about the same for two if we took the airport shuttle to terminal one and then take the city bus for 10 Euro each one way.

The walk to and from the airport to get the shuttle was very long. If we didn’t accidentally find an abandoned wheelchair one of our party would not have made the walk. The shuttle was frequent enough. Our waitress in the bar was delightful.
