What a special hotel! It’s unique and extraordinary, with fresh flowers inside and out, and kind staff. I was thrilled when I arrived and saw what I had booked! You never know what you’re going to find, and I was extremely satisfied.

Lovely, safe, quiet refuge

A lovely overnight refuge. Very charming. Helpful, friendly staff. Accommodating to disabled person & the jacuzzi was wonderful. Breakfast room is adorable. The breakfast was so-so. I will likely go back with my husband. I will stay here again when I return to Longwood Gardens.

Everthing was great, a great little bistro right by hotel that had delicious coffee, croissants, muffins! My only complaint was I had a hard time keeping my flat iron plugged into outlet in bathroom.

Easy check-in and check-out. No problems. Breakfast was okay. Shops and restaurants within walking distance. Front desk attendant was friendly and accommodating. My reservation said "pay at check-in", but my card was charged days before we arrived. Not a big deal to me, but wanted to mention it. We would come back!

The hotel reflects the Brandywine area with its look and feel of its colonial history. Since we last stayed at this property a few years back a new ownership has taken place and has done a very nice job refreshing the rooms. Their breakfast area is generous and plenty of options to eat in or take on the go. Front desk staff is courteous and friendly. Check in and check out was very easy. We look forward to staying again when we are in the area.

One of the best hotel stays I've ever had. This unassuming but TOTALLY comfortable and well-appointed independent hotel is a rarity in the U.S.: its furnishings are utterly individual, attractive (NONE of the factory-style comforts/themes of even the best chain hotels) and unpretentious. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Access to the room where free daily breakfasts are served is 24x7. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious, with a lovely view of a field going back to the horizon. The price was lower than most of the chain hotels in the area. The location was right in the thick of the major sights/sites in the Chadds Ford area: less than a mile from the Brandywine Museum of Art, less than four miles from Longwood, from the Dupont family conservatory, less than six miles from Kennett Square, within two miles of several excellent restaurants.

Good enough

Shower heads emitted only a trickle of water despite great water pressure elsewhere. Some breakfast items were stale. No coffee making equipment in room. No microwave though we had a refrigerator. Staff were great. Hotel was clean throughout.
