Because Tenaya Lodge is a rural location guests should call the hotel if they need additional directions or information on how to get to the hotel. During winter months, chains may be necessary, even for four-wheel-drive vehicles.

Bears inhabit this area. Do not leave food or beverages (including water) in vehicles and heed all other warnings issued by the lodge.

Guests driving to the property should be aware of seasonal road closures. Hwy 120 (Tioga Pass) closes October through late June, restricting east-to-west travel across the park. Yosemite's eastern gate and Tuolumne Meadows are not accessible when Tioga Pass is closed. Guests are advised to check local weather and road conditions/closures with the California Department of Transportation before travel.

Tenaya Lodge is a beautiful place, and our entire stay was wonderful from check-in to departure. We arrived early to explore, and Angel was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. I mentioned it was our first visit and that we were celebrating my daughter’s birthday, and later the hotel surprised us with four cupcakes for the girls to decorate—such a thoughtful touch. The staff was warm and courteous, the property was clean, and the food was great. The kids especially loved the pool, hot tubs, and ice skating rink. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back.

Hotel was beautiful, it’s under construction so there’s only one restaurant open-Jackalopes. We had reservations there for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was a marginal buffet—something you would expect for free at a lesser hotel. However, the syrup for the make-yourself waffles was so hot that when my 10 month old baby grabbed the cup accidentally she developed second degree burns on her hand. The “server” came up to quickly wipe the syrup from the table with no regard for my child. Eventually a security guard came up and gave us one band aid and a ketchup packet of burn cream that we couldn’t use on the baby, anyway, due to her age. No one followed up. Besides the one interaction from the security guard no one apologized or checked on us or did anything. Reluctantly we went back for dinner. I ordered the pretzel appetizer and the BLTA sandwich which comes with fries. We waited probably 40 minutes for dinner and the appetizer was served at the same time as the main course. The cheese sauce for the pretzel and the pretzel itself was cold. My sandwich was brought by itself without fries. I requested a drink refill and the fries which should have come with my meal and that took another 20 minutes. We stayed for 2 nights and requested our room be serviced for the one night and it wasn’t done—we had to go down to the lobby to request towels and our garbage be taken out. For such a beautiful hotel and incredible location it is sad that they don’t actually care about guests

Our cottage wasn't the cleanest, there was mold on the ring sealing the tub to the side wall. The carpet needed a good shampoo, there was some dirty spots the size of baseballs. The dresser was missing a knob. Kids didn't seem to care as we spent the majority of our time at the club house. There is ice skating, archery movies while you swim, hot tobs an arcade and plenty of other activities for the kids to do. The majority of the activities are at no charge to guest that stay at the hotel. Everyone was a delight, very helpful and courteous. Did I mention the huge fire pits, that you can make s'mores on, and they supply the ingredients! I would definitely come again but would opt to stay at the hotel rather than a cottage. Plus 24hour shuttle service to the club house to your cottage.
