The room AC unit had a terrible smell! Check-in went fine (very quick). Got into the room, dropped our bags, and fired-up the AC unit. Freshened-up a bit, then headed out to Fredericksburg for dinner. Upon returning to the room (about 11pm) we noticed a very "musty" odor in the room. Despite that, we watched some TV, then went to bed. Woke up at like 2 or 3 in the morning, and the room REAKED of musty/ moldy odor... it was coming from the AC unit! The AC unit was shut off, and we continued our sleep until the morning. Upon turning the unit on again in the morning, the air coming out of it still stunk! We gathered our things, left, and checked out. I reported the issue to the front desk at checkout, but he seemed fairly unconcerned (English was not his first language...). We will NEVER book here again!

Check in was easy and the front desk young woman was nice. The pool was dirty and she said it was to be cleaned but we did not get a chance to use it. My husband went to put the suitcase on a clubchair as there was no luggage rack. The chair was so dirty with visible mud,etc. That my husband opted to put the suitcase on the bed instead. The beds looked clean and were nicely made. The lamp between the two beds was covered in filth. My husband did not charge his phone bc the charger on the lamp base was too filthy. The hairdryer was broken. There was a roach in the bathroom. The shower was an accident waiting to happen. The tub had a slick, shiny bottom with out anywhere to stabilize your feet.The shower surround was made of slick shiny sheets of fake marble. Nowhere to hold if needed. No grab bars. I would not stay there again. Not even for free.

Nice place but one problem

Room was clean and nice. Only major problem was there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. One family members allergies were slightly affected being in the room, but not enough to need to change room for the one night stay.

I booked a room with two queen beds and the hotel put us in a room with one King. I wasn’t told about this at check in and when I went back to the front desk to tell them the clerk told me it was an error on expedias end and I needed to contact them. So I did and Expedia ended up being absolutely no help either.

It was a great stay! We were there for the 4th of July and then we were going to head to San Antonio the next day. The flood happened so we decided to stay another night!! Very clean rooms! I’d go back.

Good and Bad

They remodeled the rooms, good but the new sinks were by the only plug for the coffee maker so you had to move the coffee maker back and forth when using it and there wasn't much room, the bed had no night stand and light with electrical access for plugging in cell phones, the bath room shower fixtures were not properly installed, and there was not the variety of breakfast snacks that there had been in the past. When we walked in it was raining and there were no bath mats to put by the front door to stop water and mud being dragged across the room. I needed to go to the front desk as all there were was two towels, no wash cloths either. The new mirror was attractive but there was no overhead light that used to exist to properly see your face for applying makeup. Also there was no iron for the clothes and inadequate space for hanging clothes. One person staying over nite, fine, but two staying several days not fine. The old closet shelf although not attractive would have been better, it also provided a place to put the iron. The motel is still close to downtown, next to a great restaurant, and reasonably priced, so it has a lot of pluses that will keep us coming back.
