From what I understand this was supposed to be a “resort” but I think that’s stretching it a bit far. Our room was average for a motel, and the ceiling above the beds looked as if it had mold on it. The bathroom door was difficult to close and the strike plate on it fell off. The beds were comfortable, but if you’re a light sleeper you will hear the train going by several times during the night, as well as your neighbors if they’re noisy.

Feeling ripped off

Our room was so dark we could not find anything. There was no dresser to put anything in but plenty of room for one. The outside area is very nice but the drinks are double what they should be so we didn't enjoy the area. There is a charge daily for ammenities which we did not understand since we could not use the pool since it was not heated. It is a shame they do not make this enjoyable as it could be.

This hotel is not what I would consider a true 4-star property. While the lobby and hotel bar area are nicely done and give a good first impression, the rest of the property doesn’t measure up. Our room needed a thorough detail cleaning, especially along the baseboards and around the AC unit. The stairwells were dirty, and the exterior concrete areas looked neglected and poorly maintained. Definitely expected more for the rating.

The fire pits and pool were great! The atmosphere was elegant and modern while still being family friendly, but not annoying to childless couples. It felt like adult summer camp. The beds were super comfy and the room was clean. The natural light was lacking but it just made us use the facilities more because the open air bar to patio was great. It’s also close to everything!

Hip but not worth it.

The website says it has on pet-free rooms set aside for people with allergies. My spouse called 4 times to get confirmation of that and went to VM with no return call. The 5th call on our drive there the staff didn't even know the website had no pet rooms. We got a room which had dog hair on the chairs. The other thing was the Train noise that went by about every 10 minutes. Right against a train track. The lobby / restaurant was great, hot tub was nice. Bad designed bathrooms no vents and water comes out of the shower onto the floors. Towels were old and worn out.

They've done a really nice job fixing up this old Days Inn with great amenities and it was very clean, however you can still tell it used to be an old Days Inn that has been refurbished

Exploring Flagstaff

We were at High Country Lodge for 3 days to explore Flagstaff. The place is just average, a little pricey for what it is. The rooms are very dark including the bathroom. The bedding is very comfortable which makes for good sleeping. The restaurant menu a little skimpy although the one nigh we at there we did have an amazing pizza.
