First cabin had a moldy smell, the electric heater barely worked, the “fireplace” had been taken apart for repairs maybe but not reassembled, but we didn’t stay long because the power went out in that cabin only and we had to move at 130 am since there was no heat. The second cabin was a tiny bit better but we both developed headaches and I had stomach issues from the moldy smell. Cabins are not maintained well & only heated if occupied but not even heated prior to your arrival. No one at the counter even asked how our stay was, guess they knew better. I would not stay again that’s for sure.

Awesome property in a beautiful setting, very close to Nevada City and Grass Valley. But, our cabin was filthy, trash from previous guests left under the bed, the ceiling fan was completely covered with dirt and dust, the place looked like it had not been vacuumed in a long time. Also one the key features, the gas fireplace did not work because rodents had chewed up the wiring for the pilot light. It looks like they are fixing up the place, but a simple walk through prior to our check in would have been nice

I ended up canceling the reservation because the toilet continued to clog and overflow. Had a very uncomfortable bed too. The grounds are very neat and have a lot of history, but I can’t say I recommend this place.

Almost a rural resort vib. Rooms are large but typical motor hotel style. The grounds are gorgeous, huge pines, divided parking areas and a private babbling brook, which was almost raging due to the heavy rains. Thetown is a long 2alk and is well worth the effort. It's picture perfect.
