Another amazing stay, even during a nor’easter. The staff did their best to still make the stay as enjoyable as it could have been with most things closed in the area. They were also kind enough to put us in the same room we had last time, which is our favorite thing about the Soundview and our trips out east. The view from our deck and the cute small things they have for dogs will keep us coming back. Thank you for another memorable trip.

Breakfast and the Halyard restaurant are top shelf. A few quirks with our room(s) - no cable service, a locked bathroom door that couldn’t be opened, and a dead bolt that didn’t work- but the staff were helpful and accommodating and did everything they could to make things right.

Overall, I was disappointed with the level of service provided during our stay. The staff were not welcoming, and the gentleman at the front desk was neither friendly nor forthcoming with essential information about our stay or the hotel amenities. At breakfast, the service was equally lacking. Staff were not proactive in restocking items, and it wasn't until I asked for basic necessities like plates, coffee, and breakfast items that anything was replenished. This gave the impression of disorganization and a lack of attentiveness to guests.

Way too overpriced for what you get! Let’s start with the positives. A magnificent view and a decent bed… The rooms are less than average, with terrible decor, and very noisy, to the point that we could hear clearly the couple next door for the whole night…. just like a cheap motel, except that it costs us almost $800 for the night.

disappearing maids

The hotel is on a beautiful site The hotel room was not clean and the maids did not go out of their way to service the room They knocked on the door very early and asked if I wanted towels One day they did service the room They made the bed and added towels They did not wash the coffee cup. They did not sweep or vacuum the floor The floor was sandy from previous tenants and had wood chips on it I ran out of toilet paper and had to ask the maintanence man Wasnt impressed I was very shocked that they allowed smoking The man in room 203 smoked cigars on the balony and in his room I havent seen that in years What makes it worth it was the view but for 1900 on a Saturday night I would want better service

Wonderful but the bathroom is too small

We loved our stay. It’s like a motel turned eco friendly resort. We had an upper corner room, which afforded us unobstructed views and privacy. The bed was so comfortable and the room was spacious—except for the bathroom. The bathroom needs vanity space! While the charm of this place is partly due to its being vintage, if I’m spending $800 a night I want a modern, spacious bathroom.
