Wanted to like it, but a number of factors made it hard: 1. Waited 10-15 minutes at 7:30 PM for front desk help to arrive to check in. 2. Gym was limited to non-working treadmill, one set of 30 pound dumbbells, and eliptical (didn't try it), and one broken cable machine. Working gyms are essential. 3. Mold in corner of shower and bathroom was small but gross. 4. Hallway smelled musty. Bright spot: Cook-to-order free breakfast was excellent and served quickly. Compliments to the kitchen staff.

The location was awesome on the river. Staff was very nice and quite helpful. The breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. The room was clean plus quite large "but" the entire facility is in need of an upgrade or remodel.

The lobby was not well lit and the gathering area was dark and furniture was broken. The clerk was dressed in goth clothing which added to the ambiance. My initial room had a broken toilet so I asked for a repair or new room. The clerk seemed put out and upset I was making this request. The property is in need of a make over, it is looking out of date and run down

Room well kept, but several things in this hotel weren't being maintained, such as a hairdryer that had come off the wall. Lobby couch had a broken leg. Landscaping around the parking not well kept. Sad, because this is a nice location and the restaurant is good with friendly staff. A walking trail between the hotel and the river is a plus.

The night clerk was the best thing about my whole stay. The treadmill and elliptical machines didn’t work. It was hard to get my shower working. There was hair in the tub. And the people above me were extremely loud at 4am.

They don't clean your room or make the bed or replenish used towels or soaps during multi day stays. Then they leave a note encouraging tipping. The overall condition was older but nicely maintained. The room was clean when we got there. The breakfast was OK but needed more options.

Shilo not what it used to be

I remember years ago when the Shilo was top of the line for Idaho falls. Why would you have a “mumbler” behind the front desk to check you in? I finally stopped asking “what?” How hard is it to have working ice machines? The sofa in my suite had hair all over it so I didn’t dare sit in it. The small tv isn’t a “smart” TV and has very poor resolution. The refrigerator turned clear down as cold as it would go doesn’t work well. Won’t freeze water. The dining room was clean, the breakfast was really good. The linens were clean. Bed was comfy. It’s kinda run down. I was disappointed.

The pool looks amazing although we didn’t use it on this trip. We really enjoyed the breakfast and how it changed up each of the three mornings. We were on the fourth floor so we used the elevator multiple times and it was so clean and bright with photos and mirrors. and the stairway was beautiful as well. The decor is elegant and the room was so spacious and comfortable.

The hotel room is very large, although somewhat dated. Overall, the hotel was very good. Some of the exit doors were locked, which made it a long way to go to the vehicle. Overall, very pleasant.
