Great views from the balcony

Good location for us to snorkel and kayak at the John Pennecamp state park. Plenty of restaurants nearby and within walking distance, though we mostly cooked in the handy kitchenette. King bed was comfortable. We loved sitting on the balcony over the canal and marina watching pelicans fly by. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Beautiful, cozy little sweet. Everything about this place was wonderful except for the bed, and I mean everything else was perfect. The bed is one of this old hard spring things… it’s 2025… why did I spend $300 for a matress style that was outdated and uncomfortable in the ‘90’s??

The service was very good, We even received text messages asking if there was anything we needed. The only thing I would say is the kitchen needs updated. The white cupboards were yellowing. Also, the screen to the balcony was broken off the hinges therefore it was hard to open it. This is not a deal breaker but something to think about. We had a nice 2 night stay. Sharkeys across the water was a lot of fun.

Waterside Suites and Marina a Keys choice

We enjoyed our three nights at Waterside Suites. Large, comfortable, recently renovated loft suite with a full kitchen and a balcony facing the marina. Staff professional and courteous, and the cookies in the main office a nice touch. A little noisy at night because of the bar and restaurant right across the marina from our suite but it would usually calm down most nights before 11 pm. The hotel is within walking distance of several restaurants. Recommend Doc’s Diner for breakfast. Always appreciate free parking on the premises. A word of caution for people with mobility issues because there are some stairs to climb up to the units and another flight from the main floor to the bedroom. Not an issue for us but I can see it being a bit of a challenge for some people. All in all, a reasonably priced alternative to some of the chain hotels nearby.
