Old world charm. Great breakfast . Comfortable and clean bed . You hear people talking and walking through the walls though. I will still come back
I walked with a smile on my face, the woman at the desk never even looked up or acknowledge me in any way. I waited 8 minutes (thinking she sure had a lot of computer work to do) then a man walked in & she looked up right away and said can I help you to the man, I said you can help me because I’ve been here almost 10 minutes, she was very sullen & rude to me (gave us a horrible room!!). The room had spider webs in the corners & it was dusty. It was a very dark room painted hospital green. I expected a lot more from this hotel. I will never stay here again!! I don’t recommend this establishment.
Outside patio & fire pit sitting area very nice.
Unfortunately no staff to operate the bar or fire pit.
Inn close to walkable town store’s & restaurants.
Mini split a/c was great & quiet.
Breakfast staff very helpful and lots of coffee & choices - area kept clean.
Many small complaints, but the main problem that caused me to give a bad review is safety. The guest room doors only have one lock, which is on the handle and accessible from the outside. Anyone with a key (which could be anyone because the keys were easily accessible at the front desk) could enter the room. There was not an additional deadbolt or latch on the door. There also wasn’t a peephole in the door. This is unacceptable and made me feel very unsafe. I’ve never seen a hotel room door with just the lock on the door handle.

Outside needs attention
Dead leaves in yard and lot
Asphalt path leading to parking .. very uneven raised /bulging areas …a challenge to navigate… could cause someone to fall.
We enjoyed our stay at the Whitlock (part of the same management as the Constance). Good restaurants easy to walk to. Quiet. Only thing we missed was a comfortable armchair in the bedroom.
The staff on duty were very professional and pleasant. The young man on duty on Thursday afternoon and evening was very attentive and capably answered my question about the Shakespeare theater. My room was very clean and modern. The slight problem with the bed footboard did not effect my comfort or the function of the bed.
Very convenient location for walking to Lenox's restaurants. Generally easy parking. Great continental breakfast. Lovely staff.
Bed could have been firmer. Walls are a little thin.
I have previously "reviewed" the stay but I will again provide information that may improve the process.
I booked thru Expedia what I thought ( and Expedia probably thought was a stay at The Constance Hotel in Lenox. All communication from Expedia ( including pictures of The Constance) indicated I had a valid registration. The day before our first night's reservation I received a text from the Hotel. I did not question why the text requested to check-in at The Whitlock Hotel (I assumed it was for efficiency, as we have stayed at The Constance and it is not staffed 24/7). The two Hotels are within walking distance. At check-in the Hotel staff gave us a key for a room at The Whitlock. Immediately I asked for a refund. The Hotel clerk explained the process between Expedia and The Lenox Collection-- 3 hotels under one management was flawed. She blamed Expedia and after a few calls "found" a room at The Constance which resolved the issue. No where in any Expedia communication ( 4 emails) does it indicate we may not be staying where we believed we booked. In the future I will not be using Expedia to book any travel. BTW, After the resolution, I believe we stayed in the best room at The Constance and had a lovely stay with the exception of being awakened by a false fire alarm. Please do not ask again for a "survey" response as this is my second time responding...... We had a very nice stay, and next time will need to book directly not thru an intermediary.

Location is the best feature of the Whitlock and the staff is terrific. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff.The room was a great size for 2 friends.The ease of parking is also stellar.
