Dog-friendly hotel. Very welcoming and efficient staff. Hotel could do with some refurbishment as it's an old building and some bits look very tired. The lift belongs in a museum. Breakfast service is like a well oiled machine, churning out plates of decent quality food. Good value overall.

Had a last minute stop over stay at The Marlborough. Had a lovely welcome at reception and was surprised with a sea view room. The room was spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows comfortable. Shower was a bit “snug” but lovely and hot. Breakfast was good and service was friendly and excellent. Would defiantly stay again

If you are looking for posh.if you are looking for boutique hotel . this is not the place for you. the property is old Victorian i think.but it is spotlessly clean.the room had tea and coffee making facilities the tv was small the bathroom was dated. but the staff are great .service was excellent and friendly .the breakfast was excellent the evening meal was really good home cooking though the menu was a little dated.it reminded me of school dinner's my school had a great cook. i really enjoyed the over night stay so did our dog .

Comfortable but could do with improvements

Stay was comfortable. Its no frills, little things could be improved to make it look better, i.e, rust on shower caddy, bin lid chipped round edges, unit in bathroom rusty, toilet roll holder coming off wall, these are things that could easily be changed with little cost, it would make a massive improvement. Overall, i slept well, it was quiet & staff were lovely. Breakfast was great!

A good sleep in quiet 3rd floor room ( lift available). Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Decor a little dated. Clean and warm! Overall a great stay

Neat and traditional

The room was spacious and had everything you need including an armchair and a comfy bed - all very clean and well maintained. The only thing to bear in mind is toiletries aren't provided but there's plenty of shops on the doorstep. The breakfast is well organised with a list of names/tables to keep things smooth. I felt the portion was just right and extra toast was offered if you wanted more.
